We went to the bistro with anticipation, because the ratings sound really promising. We came to the restaurant at 8:30 p.m., where a very bad-humored waitress stood behind the counter. When ordering, she is chewing gum and seemed a bit in a bad mood. We ordered onion rings and Hummus as a starter that were really delicious. BUT: When the Dürum and the Baguette came we were just shocked. The seitan in both was spongy and tasteless. It felt like the baguette had only three ingredients: pimentos, saitan and bread. It was really hard to eat. I can't understand the good reviews at all. When we managed to eat the main course, we wanted to have the rest of the fries, the 4 writing bread, the rest of the onion rings and the hummus packed. That was apparently a mistake: the bad-mood waitress literally slammed the packed food on the counter. I just felt so uncomfortable in the situation. My husband and I have been vegan for several years and keep testing vegan restaurants and Courts, but we have never seen...

Ordering local cuisine abroad when you don't eat meat or seafood can be limiting, or at the very least intimidating when you're not 100% sure that what you just ordered at an omnivore restaurant is fully vegetarian and you feel like a touristy dweeb trying to double-check in American English. That being the case, I was pleased to find B13, a vegan tapas bar in a tight space on a narrow street off the center of town. The vibe was relaxed and hip without any uncomfortable pretension (at least I didn't sense any awkwardness and we even had a 5 year old with us). It wasn't fancy (which I like) and it had what we wanted (which was a couple of iconic tapas dishes made vegan). Basically, whatever you call it, it's still deep-fried bar food, but it is what it is and I...

This is my favorite vegan restaurant in Madrid city center. Kebab durum is my personal favorite as well as bocadillo con seitan. I also tasted tortilla, burgers and patatas bravas and all of them worth to try.

Place order and pay at the counter.

Be prepared to wait since there are only 5 tables in the dining area due to covid restrictions. But you won’t regret waiting after you try this delicious food.

For the same reason if you are already in and noticed that there is a huge line outside, please just eat and leave. You can have long conversations with friends somewhere else.

Due to the small capacity we have to be considerate of the other people waiting who cannot order takeaway food. As well as help this small business to increase...

B13 Bar is a brilliant blend of flavor-packed vegan comfort food, friendly service, and an unforgettable punk‑rock atmosphere. Just make sure to show up early, order a few drinks, dig into those burgers and vegan tapas, and soak up the vibrant energy! ⸻ Tips You Can’t Miss: • Go early to beat the crowd. • No reservation available, so punctuality pays off. • Dive into drinks and vegan tapas—sausages with fries, burgers, croquetas, calamari—all standouts! • Be ready for a lively and loud scene—it’s all part of the experience.

Apparently one of the first vegan restaurants in the area, B13 is a fun spot. The atmosphere is very alternative—no credit cards, many tattoos and piercings on staff and attendees, order at the bar. Lively ambiance. The menu is greasy-spoon meets burger joint, it’s not trying to be vegan health food. It is delicious! Be forewarned that it’s always packed. That’s ok, we waited 20 min to get a seat for two, nbd. And the vegan tortilla typically sells out by evening, FYI. Go to B13 for the history, setting, and the food!
