Bodega del Águila — Restaurant in Madrid

I love this place! I live upstairs from this bar and come down every now and then for a couple of drinks and to just relax or when I’m bored. Prices are great and it’s hella chill. They have a great selection of drinks and a small variety of tostas! There’s always jazz and r-n-r playing; either live or coming from the speakers. The atmosphere is hella chill and everyone is very friendly. The usual crowd is older but there are quite a few 20/30 somethings that frequent this spot; usually later in the night when they’re done being wild and just wanna chill. I enjoy when there is a younger crowd because I feel more comfy but I’m comfy with the older crowd as well; they’re all nice. Did I say people here were nice? Lol. Anyways, if you’re in the area, stop in and say what’s up. The bartender is not a very English speaker but he understands and will help you as best you can if you don’t speak English. One time I had guests over and needed alcohol but all stores were closed, so I came down and asked to buy some wine and a bottle of whisky and dude was so cool and sold them to me but felt bad because I was buying at a higher price. The next couple of times I came in, he gave me free drinks; not just beer but mixed drinks as well. In any case, the crowd will mostly only speak Spanish as is the norm in many places in Madrid! Oh! The bathrooms are very clean too in case you were wondering; clients take care of the place. Hope you enjoy...

Espectacular!! Un bar de toda la vida, dónde entré a tomarme la última caña antes de hacer la cena y me ha dado la una de la madrugada ahí metida. Buen ambiente,buena gente y de repente un concierto, música años 50!!! Un contrabajo, una trompeta, un saxo, dos guitarras, un banjo (lo siento por los no nombrados) y dos cantantes que nos dejaron con la boca abierta ( Yolanda Merino y Errulene Olaziregui)!!!! Pregunté sus nombres para homenajearlas aquí porque lo valen!!!! Canté, bailé, disfruté como una enana y conocí gente divina!!!! Volveré el jueves, el viernes y el sábado!!!!
