BURRITOS - Chueca — Restaurant in Madrid

This place has almost 300 reviews and 5 stars on google reviews. There is definitely a mistake somewhere or bad reviews are removed at request. This is definitely not 5 star Mexican food, and to be quite frank...Taco Bell, which I would never recommend is a safer bet. At least you get what your looking for. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for the service. The food is easily a 1 or less. All food stored in ban Marie's for heating. Nachos already preheated. All food prepared and reheated. In fact it's quite disgusting. Tacos (out of a bag) almost raw and so soft that the smallest amount of sauce breaks them in half. The burritos are the same story. Food is incredibly poorly prepared and served basically cold. It's the subway version of Mexican food. Chicken is disgusting looking...dried cubes of chicken. Pork and beef are shredded and as chewy as you can ever imagine. Black beans are heated out of a can. Avoid at all costs!! I promise you!! The margaritas are frozen mixture with added tequila. Not terrible, but not great. Doors wide open, uncomfortable seating. This place is a lot of hee hee, and very little haa haa. All smoke and mirrors. Very little substance. Total disappointment, especially since there are so many great mexican restaurants in the area. Did I mention 2 tacos, 2 burritos, 1 nachos and 3 drinks...37.00 euros? I would have paid 97.00 if it was good, but in fairness to get out of there still alive...it...

The food was okay. I usually give 4 stars if the food was okay but the service and locating were great. So the places is very clean and staff were very friendly. But I felt like I was getting scammed when I was paying. I told the guy I was paying with card. The first time we tried at the end the machine said canceled. The cashier said ohh something happened and it got canceled. So I was like let’s try again. The second time the screen said approved, but at the end the cashier said ohh no it was cancelled again we have to try again the third time. I told him to wait a second and I quickly logged into my bank app and saw that there was a charge from this place. I showed the cashier that my card has been charged. The cashier look at me and said okay you can have your food no problem. I don’t think this was intentionally because the people over there...

By far my favorite burrito place in the city. They have real corn tortilla chips (not those awful am/pm gas station corn chips that you keep getting around town). No, real corn chips! The salsa is also SPICY! The food is kind of a cross between Baja Fresh and Chipotle but with fresher ingredients. The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend that you - at least - treat yourself to mini nachos or their veggie nuggets. Overall, you can’t go wrong here. The staff speaks English and is very friendly...
