Someone in Madrid had highly recommended this place to me. Upon walking in, it reminded me of the comfort of eating dinner at a friend’s house. I was greeted and sat, with extreme friendliness from the employees. Onto the food. For starters we had Tempura shrimp which was delicious and soft with the sauce given and I had as well had these peanut sesame chicken skewers which reminded me of Pad Thai. The sauce was a delicate sweetness that complimented the chicken perfectly. For my entree I’d ordered the skirt steak and fries with chimichurri sauce. I’d ordered the steak rare because I’m that kind of way but I suggest most people get medium rare to medium. The steak was seriously good. Normally I’m not fond of skirt steak and only ever see it as a cheap alternative but this entree blew me out the water especially with the chimichurri sauce added on top. All in all, this place was the best I’d visited within my week visiting Madrid. I won’t forget the generosity of the staff and the service for letting us stay until closing. I will certainly come again...

I walked by this adorable restaurant while walking in the Chueca neighborhood during my visit a few weeks ago. It was so cute and the menu looked great so I booked a table for my friend and me the following day. We were not disappointed with our decision! First, we started off with guacamole to share. We were immediately impressed with the presentation of it all. Bring from CA we eat guac all of the time, but this one was special. The ingredients were so fresh, it felt like they had picked the avocados that morning. The chips were so crispy and delicious I actually asked for more! We both went on to have the entraña (steak) with fries. Perfection. Utter perfection. From the beef to the homemade fries that were incredibly fresh and crispy- I still think about that meal once a day. We wrapped up our meal by sharing the homemade cheesecake ice cream that was unbelievable. The restaurant is tiny but it offers so much when it comes to the warmth of the staff and the deliciousness of their cuisine. I highly recommend El Social to anyone in the...

The service is attentive with a personal touch. English is spoken. The food is delicious, from appetizers— we ordered a lot—through to desserts— we all shared and each one was dreamy delicious and homemade. No one could agree on which dessert was best because each one from chocolate to the carrot cake and everything in between, was outstanding. We were a party of 6 and ordered various entres. Everyone enjoyed their choice ranging from uniquely prepared meat, savory meatballs to fish and chicken dishes. Sides were paired perfectly with the main course. Wines were just right and mixed drinks were made to perfection. Prices are far less than what would be expected for a restaurant of this caliber and probably about half or less, of what it would cost in the USA. I highly recommend El Social and if you want to you can make reservations because it can be very crowded! There is also a small counter area near the door to the left, where one may sit to dine if the restaurant is packed or you’re dining solo or...

Visited here during my trip to Madrid with my daughter last week and we were blown away with their amazing food and service! Place is so cute and lovely that provides very comfortable ambience. I don't remember the waiter's name unfortunately, but he was extremely friendly and attentive. We had the shrimp tempura with fried spinach for appetizer and for main, pork belly with mash potato and special fish dish with cauliflower puree, which was heavenly. Everything was so delicious, and I can tell the ingredients in the dish were also top notch too. For dessert we had raspberry ice cream with soda which refreshed our mouths and cup of espresso that calmed our mood : ) All in all, this restaurant is one of the best in Madrid I've been, dishes are fusion cuisines but also authentic at the same time. Loved it and will definitely visit again next time I am in Madrid!

Restaurant Review: El Social, Madrid Oh boy, where do I even start? We booked El Social based on its glowing Google reviews, expecting a hidden gem in Madrid. What we got instead? A glorified disaster wrapped in disappointment. First things first – the place looks like it hasn’t seen a mop since the early 2000s. Worn-out, dirty, and about as inviting as a gas station restroom. But hey, at least the staff was friendly! Too bad they couldn’t serve up a meal that matched their good vibes. The food? Tragic. Bland, poorly cooked, and about as exciting as a wet paper bag. And the drinks? Let’s just say, if sadness had a flavor, it would taste like whatever they served us. Final verdict: Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else. Madrid is full of amazing food – this ain’t it.

We honestly did not enjoy anything about El Social. The menu was not interesting, felt the interior was a bit unkept (duct tape over the lights on the stairwell to the toilets) and the service was very average, no smiles or personality. It was a bit quiet and the music was bad - no atmosphere. Last but not least, we found the food tasteless, not well cooked and without any character - especially the pesto gnocchi. I’m sorry to say (as we did have high expectations reading the positive reviews and well taken photos on social media), but this is possibly the worst place we have eaten at in Madrid.
