Someone in Madrid had highly recommended this place to me. Upon walking in, it reminded me of the comfort of eating dinner at a friend’s house. I was greeted and sat, with extreme friendliness from the employees. Onto the food. For starters we had Tempura shrimp which was delicious and soft with the sauce given and I had as well had these peanut sesame chicken skewers which reminded me of Pad Thai. The sauce was a delicate sweetness that complimented the chicken perfectly. For my entree I’d ordered the skirt steak and fries with chimichurri sauce. I’d ordered the steak rare because I’m that kind of way but I suggest most people get medium rare to medium. The steak was seriously good. Normally I’m not fond of skirt steak and only ever see it as a cheap alternative but this entree blew me out the water especially with the chimichurri sauce added on top. All in all, this place was the best I’d visited within my week visiting Madrid. I won’t forget the generosity of the staff and the service for letting us stay until closing. I will certainly come again...
Read moreI walked by this adorable restaurant while walking in the Chueca neighborhood during my visit a few weeks ago. It was so cute and the menu looked great so I booked a table for my friend and me the following day. We were not disappointed with our decision! First, we started off with guacamole to share. We were immediately impressed with the presentation of it all. Bring from CA we eat guac all of the time, but this one was special. The ingredients were so fresh, it felt like they had picked the avocados that morning. The chips were so crispy and delicious I actually asked for more! We both went on to have the entraña (steak) with fries. Perfection. Utter perfection. From the beef to the homemade fries that were incredibly fresh and crispy- I still think about that meal once a day. We wrapped up our meal by sharing the homemade cheesecake ice cream that was unbelievable. The restaurant is tiny but it offers so much when it comes to the warmth of the staff and the deliciousness of their cuisine. I highly recommend El Social to anyone in the...
Read moreThe service is attentive with a personal touch. English is spoken. The food is delicious, from appetizers— we ordered a lot—through to desserts— we all shared and each one was dreamy delicious and homemade. No one could agree on which dessert was best because each one from chocolate to the carrot cake and everything in between, was outstanding. We were a party of 6 and ordered various entres. Everyone enjoyed their choice ranging from uniquely prepared meat, savory meatballs to fish and chicken dishes. Sides were paired perfectly with the main course. Wines were just right and mixed drinks were made to perfection. Prices are far less than what would be expected for a restaurant of this caliber and probably about half or less, of what it would cost in the USA. I highly recommend El Social and if you want to you can make reservations because it can be very crowded! There is also a small counter area near the door to the left, where one may sit to dine if the restaurant is packed or you’re dining solo or...
