I was ready to give this place three stars for the slightly better-than-average food until the bill came back and they charged us double for the paella and bread we got.
Another reviewer already brought this up, but the menu says €14 for paella mixto and €15 for paella marisco. It also says it's to be shared by two people. Nowhere does it say you'll be charged twice the advertised price because two people were sharing one plate. Why would you be? We didn't get double the paella.
Other than that, we had ordered paella marisco and received paella mixto (we confirmed this with the waiter). Not a huge deal. It was €1 cheaper. Except we got charged for the more expensive paella marisco that we had originally ordered. Either an honest mistake or trying to increase profit margins via shady tactics, you decide.
Other than that, we also got charged for two bread baskets because they're also "for two people". We received a single bread basket.
Something worth mentioning is that they'll ignore requests for tap water. Yes we said it in Spanish, and yes they understood us. Both times we asked they brought us bottled water that they then obviously charged us for.
The service was average. I understand in Spain it's customary to call over the server when you need something, and that they won't be at your table constantly like in the United States. The food did take a while to come out, though. Not a huge problem for me, just thought I'd mention it.
Overall, avoid this place because depending on what you get they will charge you way more than what you ordered. The food is not worth the above average prices they charge, and especially not worth double. Just...
Read moreWe wanted a light evening meal and, as usual, ate too much. This small basement level restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We were welcomed and were provided with two slices of manchengo cheese and bread. The host gave us menus in Spanish and a separate English menu if we needed it (note it was made clear to us that the English menu was old and prices out of date). The host provided a tasting of their homemade chicken nuggets and suggested the torta with shrimp which we ordered. All of this was very good and more than enough for a meal. We also got a Caesar salad (too much radicchio) which had more of the yummy chicken and a nice hamburger with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and bacon and French fries. Staff and I were able to communicate mainly with my limited Spanish but everyone tried to make our dinner pleasant and it was. This is a popular...
Read moreThe food was fine, but they were very unclear about what we ordered. We were two people and asked for one daily menu and 3 tapas. We got the daily plus menu and 3 larger portions. We realized that the portions seemed a bit large for tapas so we asked, and they returned 2 of them but the one we had eaten about 1/3 of they didnt want to take back and charged us for the larger portion. They also offered water without saying the price, and then charged us 3 € for one and 4 € for another ( by including it in the extra large meal). So instead of 25-30 € we had ordered for we had to pay 41 €. So if you're not a spanish speaker...
