If I could rate this place zero stars I would based on the lack of professionalism.

My husband and I decided to stop in for a beer, being that it is called "Cervecería Alemana". Upon sitting down, our waiter abruptly handed us the menu without a greeting and walked away. When he returned to take our order, I requested a glass of water to help with my hiccups and my husband asked for a Guinness. As the waiter turned to leave, he muttered under his breath—rudely and unprofessionally—that this establishment was for dining, not just drinking, making an unfounded assumption that we did not intend to order food.

At that point, my husband and I decided it was best to leave rather than giving our money to an establishment that condones this behavior. As we exited, the interaction escalated with passive-aggressive remarks from the waiter, further solidifying our decision. Whether this behavior stemmed from prejudice or simple rudeness is unclear, but regardless, it was unacceptable.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment and sincerely hope that...

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment and will not be returning. I sincerely hope that management does not condone such treatment of patrons and takes steps to ensure a more welcoming and professional...

I happened on this place randomly and I'm so happy. I just arrived and I wanted to try my first Vermouth. I stood at the bar (since the prices were cheaper where you sit) It's delicious! And came from a tap. They served me a toast with tomato and sardine with olives. I ordered a beer. Got served a plate of jamon iberico. Ordered another vermouth and got a plate of manchego cheese (so much better than the states, not so oily) and small breadsticks. This is my first experience at a bar but from what I've read from how to eat in Spain some places give you a tapa when you get a drink. This place had great bartenders. They helped me along with my broken Spanish. Encouraged me to try something new. Were all around friendly and never ignored any customer. The people inside felt like older locals but were friendly and fun to watch drinking away at 1300. I will return. This was a great...

I go here every time I come to Madrid and it's highly reliable -- you'll pay slightly more than some other places but it's well worth it. Massive beer selection, good Iberian hams and cheeses AND the best salad I've had in Madrid. Note: it's labeled "lettuce and tomato" and they do a half-portion too. Do NOT get half! AND it comes with tuna, corn, onion and olives -- chock-full of goodness. It's enough for 3 hungry people and is fresh and excellent. Be friendly to the staff and not an arrogant rube and they'll treat you like a local -- I've had superb service on every visit. Order a Spanish beer or wine, tell'em your Dad came here -- whatever it takes to warm them to you a bit -- and it'll go a long way here. It's clean, attractive and fun. One of the best spots on Plaza Santa Ana. This is a great district with lots of choices but you can't go wrong here.

We were recommended this Tapas restaurant as one being the the oldest (1904) in Madrid located at Plaza Santa Ana. The plaza itself is busy and happening. There was a group dancing to music on headphones. Another one doing circus tricks. We had to wait a few mino to get a table. Ordered a beer some wine and A mixed plates of Ham and Cod Croquettes which were good, we then had the cod tempura which was not crispy and had no taste, the sausage was good and came with a single sausage with small sides of coleslaw, and sauerkraut

No repetiré
