Con 2 Fogones — Restaurant in Madrid

I really don't get it. VERY average food that tries to be creative but completely fails. I'm highly suspicious of all these 5 star ratings, one person even saying this is the best restaurant in madrid. I would not at all be surprised if these were all friends of the restaurant. Let me get specific then; The salad with strawberries was ruined with an overly-sweet dressing that completely dominated the various flavours. The Merluza hamburger was charred to bitterness and then completely drowned in a sickly sweet sauce almost to the point where you couldnt see it. This is typical of chefs who don't have genuine talent.. to appeal to people whose palates are easily impressed by things that are sweet or creamy. Theres no way to say this without sounding snobby but seriously, if you consider yourself a "foodie", don't waste your time.The place does have a nice atmosphere and i did find the staff to be attentive.. so have a drink there and go somewhere...

I’ve been traveling through europe quite a lot recently, and it’s rare to find an eclectic world fusion style restaurant that’s not only delicious, but seemingly authentic even while doing their own thing. They have daily lunch specials under €20 that are packed with incredible portions and flavor. I had the leek soup with hot bread, chicken pad thai and added saffron risotto (not a part of the prefix), finished with ice cream. Everything was absolutely delicious. Staff is super friendly. Hoy (29/12) Hemos ido a comer ya que según las reseñas de google parecía de lo mejor de la zona donde estábamos. PERO TERRIBLE ERROR. De 5 platos que comimos, tan solo 1 plato estaba bueno (los saquitos de rabo de toro). Los demás platos en alguno había algo mal. La hamburguesa “doble smash” de novillo, era hamburguesa normal (hamburguesa gorda), la ensaladilla “fusión” sin sabor y las croquetas con algún trozo de plástico dentro. La guinda del pastel ha sido la quesadilla de pulpo a la gallega, que menos pulpo a la gallega, llevaba de todo. Lo peor que nos ha sentado es que le preguntamos a la chica si era de pulpo ( parecía carne en salsa) y nos dice que si. Como no nos quedábamos conformes le volvimos a preguntar porque lo que nos habían puesto no era quesadilla de pulpo y esa segunda vez es cuando nos admite que no es pulpo y por ello le devolvemos el plato ya que no era lo que habíamos pedido y tiene la poca vergüenza de cobrárnoslo a pesar de habernos engañado. Para colmo, después de quejarnos los camareros ni nos miraban y cuando lo hacían (sobre todo el chico) nos miraban fatal. Nos hicieron sentir muy incómodos y teñimos muchas ganas de irnos por lo que antes de terminar la hamburguesa, pedimos las cuenta para irnos lo más pronto posible. Encima, cuando estábamos pagando escuchamos a la mesa que estaba a nuestro lado, quejándose a los camareros ya que le habían servido los postres, y la tarta de queso estaba en mal estado, tenía moho en la parte de debajo. ¡Menos mal que se dieron cuenta a tiempo los padres porque habían niños y todo!
