Gandarío — Restaurant in Madrid

So we visited this place after I scoured Madrid for something that would appeal to both of us, a small tapas bar like this is the best way to spend the afternoon and/or evening if you want to be like the locals. Great atmosphere and great food, certainly a notch (or several notches for that matter) above the other good tapas bars we visited. Staff very helpful too, I thought his English was fine. Stopped in around 1pm for a drink but ended up having to stay for the food and couple more drinks.

Food looked great and luckily for me being Celiac it was gluten friendly! One of sauces was not and I believe the steak wasn't due to the marinade. The bar tender clearly crossed out what had gluten in it & let us know the chips are cooked separately to other fried foods.

Great option for a filling meal at a really good price, tapas with drinks were great as well. I'd almost say this is a must stop the food was awesome and different from the regular...

So not really the best place to go out in Madrid. Apparently they are known for having the "best salsas in Madrid" but, to be honest, they are store-bought salsas. The patatas we ordered were all broken up into small pieces which is definitely not enjoyable at all.
