Grosso Napoletano — Restaurant in Madrid

Disappointing. The servers were most likely overworked and I understand it can be stressful, but they were quite rude when talking to us. The food took over 45minutes and when it arrived the order was not correct, leaving one of the party waiting longer. My own pizza was undercooked but since I was so hungry from waiting, and with the servers being so stressed, and the order being wrong - I decided to just eat it anyway. Overpriced for such bad service and not really high quality food.

Editing just to add that even leaving was difficult. The server straight up ignored us several times as we tried to call for her. At this point, the restaurant was no longer busy and they simply ignored us while showed preference for other customers. We wanted to try the desserts but gave up on it when the servers turned their faces...

Hace unos días tenía una reserva para comer a las 15:45. Cuando llegamos nos atendió un chico que por lo visto no encontraba la reserva, que finalmente si apareció, la respuesta que nos dio fue un momento y vino otro chico(imagino que sería el encargado o el responsable de ese turno). Nos comentó que había una avería en el horno y que no nos podían dar mesa por ese motivo, le indicamos que en la carta hay más platos que no había problema no pedíamos pizza y ya está, entonces la respuesta cambió y resulta que cerraba la cocina a las 15:30, cuando preguntamos que si entonces el horno estaba roto o la cocina cerraba, la respuesta finalmente fue que la cocina cerraba a las 15:30 y que se habían puesto en contacto con nosotros, que habían llamado para avisar. La reserva la hicimos online, viendo además que después de nuestra reserva a las 15:45 había incluso más, si la cocina cierra a las 15:30 ¿cómo es posible que si cierra tengan reservas disponibles? ¿Como es posible que cuando preguntas por tu reserva te den dos posibles respuesta? Si no atiendes el teléfono, hoy en día hay más formas de comunicar que tu reserva se anula, por ejemplo un correo electrónico, el mismo método que se usó para confirmarla. La verdad que el trato no fue nada bueno, la experiencia horrible, teniendo que buscar otro sitio donde poder comer a las 15:30 de las tarde, unos aires y unos humos muy poco propios para atender a clientes. Era la primera vez que iba, porque había tenido muy buenas recomendaciones, obviamente no voy a ir jamás y por supuesto toda esa gente que me lo recomendó saben ya el mal trato y el falto servicio que obtuve de esa visita al grosso napoletano de Méndez Álvaro y por supuesto ya me hace desconfiar de cómo será el trato en los demás. Recordar que vivís del trato a la gente y que fue pésimo por vuestra parte, ni una opción válida para esa reserva anulada simplemente un búscate la...

We went for dinner mostly by accident as were around and saw the place has some free tables. Just as we entered we listen to the guys by the pizza oven (real stone oven) speaking Italian between themselves, so this was either a good sign or a pretty clever marketing ploy.

We ordered two pizzas and we were greatly surprise by the taste and the quality and quantity of the ingredients, with a really good pizza bread.

Service was very efficient, courteous and helpful. Our waitress, Jennifer, deserves praise for her attitude and professionalism.
