Kathmandu Fusión Nepali / Hindu Restaurant — Restaurant in Madrid

I am from Nepal and currently living abroad. On my first day in Madrid, I visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy Nepali food because I was feeling homesick. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. • The staff were very disrespectful and unwelcoming. • The plates were not properly cleaned. • The chicken tikka I ordered tasted like it was from the previous day. • Soon after eating, I felt unwell and even vomited when I returned to my hotel.

I strongly advise others to avoid this restaurant. I also suspect that many of their positive Google reviews are not genuine, as my experience was completely different from what I read.

This review is for delivery I ordered through just eat for this restaurant. They prepared and delivered the food very quickly. The vegetable samosas would have been good if not for the rancid nuts they put in them. The paneer pakoras were very soggy and flavorless. The lamb tika appetizer was decent but very small for its price. For main course I ordered the chili garlic everest lamb, I ordered it spicy and was happy with the spicyness level but the lamb didn’t have much flavor and the portion size was small. The naan was kind of hard and also wasn’t work the price. Overall if I am going to pay this much money I would expect quality, or at least a lot of quantity, I received neither so unfortunately I don’t think I will try this...

🍺💧 Pedimos de beber una cerveza cobra y una botella de agua.

🌿🥖 De aperitivo vienen un par de panes con 3 salsas (Amarilla, verde y naranja). La naranja muy rica un pelín picante la verde algo dulce y fresca con sabor a menta y la amarilla demasiado dulce para nuestro gusto

En nuestro caso también pedimos pan Naan de ajo.

De comer pedimos 🍅🐑 Cordero Tikka massala Vienen en un bol con mucha salsa. Es una salsa suave y cremosa que lleva alimentos tipo tomate, yogur...entre otros.

🐑🌶️🥥 Cordero Curry Madrás Uno de mis platos preferidos. Nos dejaron ajustar el picante y lo pedimos suave aunque lo recomiendo medio o alto (para quién lo disfrute). El cordero muy tierno y abundante en salsa aunque quizás un pelín corto de cordero.

🍚✨ Arroz pilai y arroz blanco El arroz pilai es amarillo y tiene un sabor característico que no sé cómo explicar. De todas formas hay otros dos arroces con pasas y frutos secos que recomiendo probar.

🍵🍨 Poleo menta y helado de pistacho casero. El poleo correcto y el helado de pistacho muy bueno. Viene con algo por encima que parece coco espolvoreado. Tiene un sabor diferente al de los helados occidentales (no tan dulce) y se nota más la presencia del pistacho. Es muy llamativo el color verde chillón del mismo.

👩‍🍳 El servicio muy atento en todo momento. Nos explicó algunos platos y nos dió recomendaciones de varias cosas. También nos ajustaron el picante. Rápidos en general para tomar nota, servir y cobrar.

🌁 El local es un local bonito. Tiene decoración hindú y algo de vegetación. Todo estaba limpio y cuidado. Tiene unas cristaleras a un lado y bastantes mesas para sentarse.

🔕 La música estaba muy bajita o inexistente y no había ningún tipo de ruido molesto más que conversaciones de otros grupos. Muy tranquilo (quizás pueda ser debido a que es miércoles)

En definitiva, seguro repetiremos. Una muy buena opción hindú muy cerca de Bernabéu/ nuevos ministerios o...
