La Bodega de Los Reyes — Restaurant in Madrid

The owner of the Bodega seems to be decent and honest person, but unfortunately agents he works with are not. While in Madrid at end- December 2019, we bought a bottle of wine to test. The bottle was " bouchonnee", that happens from time to time. The owner replaced it with another one, so we considered the place as honest. As a result we ordered 18 bottles with delivery to Luxembourg. Shipment was expected in 2-3 weeks due to the end-year period. After 1 month of waiting we tried to contact the bodega. We sent e-mails and called few times but nobody responded. Finally when we managed to talk to someone, they could not find our e-mail, then our shipment; finally the owner responded and informed that our shipment was broken by the agent; one week later we received 6 bottles, wrapped in foil.... after the following interventions, at end-February we received the following 9 bottles (so 2 months later), also unprofessionally wrapped in plastic, all soaked in wine; " very nice" presentation of wines of 15-20 euro per bottle; the 3 remaining bottles never arrived. I'm sure that I will never buy in this place again. Sorry for the nice owner, but that's a price of working with...

Alright, let me start by saying that, in my humble opinion, this place offers one of the best wine tasting experiences I have been part of.

I do not want to brag, but I have been lucky enough to have lived in Argentina, Chile and Spain. That being said, these are very iconic countries where good wine is produced. I have been to wine tasting sessions in the three countries and in my humble opinion La Bodega del Rey offers - by far- the best wine tasting experience you can expect.

Hey, I have been to the cellar where " Casillero del Diablo" is made, the winery where " EPU " and " Almaviva "are produced, and to a few wineries in Mendoza where iconic Argentinian wines are produced, but non of those wineries offered the warmth and experience I lived tonight, reason for my review.

La Bodega de los reyes is the only place where we go for wine, in Madrid, every Christmas and Easter for family gatherings, for the past 10 years. Because it is a family and quality business. When, rarely, we have been unhappy with a bottle/advice, it has been replaced. We would like to stress that we have ordered regularly, once a year, to have it delivered in Brussels. Only once last year were we unsatisfied with 6 bottles, and La Bodega de los reyes replaced them without any trouble.
