Latxaska Etxea — Restaurant in Madrid

We stopped because I really liked the name. We ordered a cider while asking for the menu. We tasted the tapas that went with our beverage and it was divine!! An omelet with cod in a sandwich. Just lovely! We then decided to order dinner and started with the octopus and afterwards the entrecôte. Everything was a delight on the tongue. The steak was cooked to perfection! We were actually quite full when we were told what the dessert choices were. They had a cheesecake. I am not always impressed with cheesecake. This one was delectable. It came on a large plate sprinkled lightly with powdered sugar and a little honey. The honey was neutral and not overly sweet, but neither was the cheesecake. It was soft and warm, and creamy. 5 star just because they really deserve it!

This is not a small neighborhood restaurant. This is a great place that is up to the level of the best restaurants downtown Madrid but without all the fancy atmosphere and nonesense. Katz Asia offers the real deal in meats and has a great service, fast, efficient and profesional. Been here a couple of times and will come back every time and in this area of the city. We had amazing well cut ibérico ham, followed by seasonal grilled white asparagus and of course you can’t miss the amazing meats and how well they prepared them. We arrived without a reservation, we were flexible with where to sit, so we started at the bar. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service so much that we stayed at the bar for our full lunch including wine and dessert. So nice to find this wonderful restaurant outside of the center. The food was tasty, we had scallops and steak.
