We had a very bad experience with Marieta. Normally I would not post a negative review, but this experience was extreme.

We made a reservation dor 8 people, but without calling us, they cancelled the reservation without letting us know because we did not confirm it by visa. However, not speaking spanisch, this was not clear for us. They should have called us to inform us that they we're going to cancel it/ or that we would have to confirm it by visa. If we would have known, we would have been glad to do so. In the end, because we did not know, we still went to the restaurant, and they gave us a table in the terrace, but it was a whole discussion.

When we arrived, there were no other customers in the restaurant. But they told us we could not sit inside, we had to sit outside in the evening. We sat in the outdoor terrace. It was really awkward because there was no music, it was completely silent, you could hear a pin drop and the lights buzzing. We were there for a bachelorette diner with some girls, so it was realy not a fun/ cozy atmosphere. We were sad to see, that when we left 2 hours later at 22u00, al the tables inside were still empty. It's a petty that we had to sit outside, because it was cold, not cosy en there was no music of anything to make you have a good time. I literally have never been to a restaurant/bar where there is no music, even playing on the background? We could just NOT understand this.

We went to bulé bulé the night after, which we would 200% recommend! It was super.

We had high expectations, but is...

We went there for brunch last week. The place itself is very nice and cosy. We were off to a good start BUT:

It took ages before one of the waiters decided to get our order. Half of the things of the menu were not available. We were told that there was no bread left!! I had poached eggs on a pan brioche and avocado. It came stone cold and the eggs were watery and uncooked. I sent it back and was given another one, slightly warmer but still raw eggs. The mimosa cocktails tasted quite bad, as if there was something off, probably the orange juice or the granatina. Considering the below average quality of food and service, this place is definitely overpriced. I wouldn't recommend it, rather have a nice Spanish...

We went for brunch and while the food was good, it is a bit expensive for what you get. Options should also be a bit more mixed, eg the toast with avocado and an egg is quite big, but this is really all it is, there comes no salad with it, no nothing and that for 10€... The terrace was announced as climatised on the website but it was freezing, even with a winter coat on. The staff needs to chill out a bit, they are friendly but they ask all the time if everything is fine and you can barely put down the fork and they try and take the plate away without even asking. That was quite annoying. It's not a bad place but I won't be going back, there are too many better...

I went for dinner, everything was very fancy. It was Wednesday and they have live music. The woman attending the terrace was marvelous, super nice and attentive. My suggestion is to dinner light and have a cocktail, they have a lot to choose from. I pick up the mojito (which is not the normal mojito). I also recommend to dress casual-fancy, there's no problem about dress codes but everybody dressed quite smart.

The place had lots of flies abs it was annoying trying to have lunch with these around. The service was really good and the manager came to apologize for the flies - something related to that construction next door. The food quality is about average. We had the fidua with shrimp, the ribs, artichokes. The place is a bit on upscale side and that reflects in the prices as well.
