Marrufo Coctelería — Restaurant in Madrid

We came here for our first evening in Madrid. The drinks and music were great, but as soon as it was mentioned where we’re from, we were given the bill without asking and the situation became very uncomfortable.

And this is my response to your comment:

I edited my original message following your DM on Instagram (from two different accounts), saying it wasn’t you working that night. Whether it was you or one of your employees, our experience at the place remains the same.

We had a wonderful conversation with the person working at the bar, but once we mentioned that our home country is Israel, the entire attitude changed. It ended with him presenting us the bill without us asking for it (needless to say, the bar was still open), saying: “Sorry, it’s my colleague.”

However, when you read my initial comment, instead of clarifying that it wasn’t you, trying to understand what happened, or saying you’d check with your staff - you called me a liar and told me to delete it.

Well… I’ve been around for quite a while now and I've never been in a place this magnificent. This place has it all, good soft jazzy ambient music, low light, and the best cocktails in this City (Madrid). This is a mezcal paradise, and whatever other cocktail you wanna have. Carlos Marrufo is an absolute genius. He created the perfect concept for a cocktail bar. Not 5 🎖️ because the service was super slow, I actually thought about cancelling the order because we waited for more than 35’ to get a drink, having to ask for it a second time because they actually forgot the first time I ordered it. Anyway, I did get it in the end. Was nice, much better than others that I tried that in my opinion or taste, aren’t worth 9.5€.. such a shame because I had big expectations and I live really close to the bar. Maybe next time I’ll have a better experience 😌
