We came in at around 10am just before it got super busy. This is a standard Madrid ham coffee shop with a display case at one end and a place to eat and drink at the back. The display case had many varieties of cheese, hams etc. Hanging above were whole legs of salted hams. Our food and drinks came quickly. There was a little wait for the plate of Serrano ham but only bordering on 'have they forgotten us or is it because they are busy?' scenario. This is a great place to take a break, enjoy a snack and then move on. It's also in a good location with metro and bus stops close by and the art museum just over the road. Wine and beer also available. The menu has pictures and is in Spanish and English. For two coffees, two ham and cheese croissants and a plate of Serrano ham, the bill came to below €10.

Definitely recommend it. Quality and price worth it. For daily menu, you paid 14€.

We saw Museo de Jamón while strolling down Gran Vía in Madrid, and when we got back to our hotel, we realized there was another location just around the corner—so we decided to give it a try. And we’re so glad we did. At first, we ordered the Jamón Ibérico de Bellota 100%, but the gentleman who took our order kindly suggested that we try four different kinds instead of just one. We really appreciated the recommendation and switched to the Recorrido Jamonero (Selected)—and wow, it was phenomenal. We also ordered Jamón Serrano con melón (because I was chasing a flavor I loved when I was eighteen), and even after having the best of the best jamón, it was still delicious and brought back memories. We left full and happy. I used an app to translate this into Spanish because my Spanish isn’t good enough to write it on my own, but I really wanted the kind gentleman who served us today to know how much we appreciated the amazing food and the warm service.

For 11.80€, we got 3 draft beers (with two different tapas); a plate of soft, crusty bread; a plate of jamón y queso; and a plate with two poached eggs, French fries, jamón croquettes, and jamón. We came very hungry and left very full. The jamón was good, of course, as was the cheese. The plain, sliced chorizo tapa was also good. The other tapa was not so good. My husband didn't want to finish it. The French fries were also not excellent. The croquettes were alright but possibly preprepared/frozen.

The decor itself would get a Poor-Fair rating from me (the place looks like a run-of-the-mill diner), but I decided to knock the rating up a notch because of the atmosphere. I was expecting a place full of tourists, but it seemed that most of the people there were not tourists. When I accidentally said "bitte" instead of "por favor" (it always takes my brain a little bit of time to de-Deutschify when I travel to a foreign country), this old Spanish gentleman standing next to us got very excited. I don't think that he gets to practice his German too much, and we had a short little conversation about Germany and the U.S. in German. It was a nice but surprising...

This 'museum' are actually large chains of restaurant which could be found at a lot of locations in Madrid. This particular one near Prado Street is actually really bad and especially the staff is quite unfriendly and rude (I am not sure if they do this to every foreign tourist who does not speak Spanish). We ordered beer first, which normally should always come with salami, other small snacks and bread for free in Museo del Jamon. (You could find lots of locals here drinking and the staff offered them full dose plates of different snacks for free) The staff however did not give us even we asked for that. After serving us two other dishes we ordered, we asked for bread, which should be always been served without asking at the very first time for free. (But in the end we actually paid 1 euro extra for it). 'Museo del Jamon' is generally highly recommended if you wanna taste some local food with low budget. But definitely not this branch near Paseo del Prado! The place around Porta del Sol and Mayor Plaza are both much much...
