Good food and beer but noisy and confusing
We visited this place for a late lunch in Madrid and it was packed! The service was a little disorganized. We waited at the door not knowing if we should walk in to claim a table; there was no one at the door to handle customers. We finally flagged down a waiter and he managed to find us a table in the back after a while. The menu seemed to be only in Galician (this is a Galician seafood restaurant). We got menu help from another waiter. We told him we wanted two seafood starters and two main courses so he made some good suggestions. The food was delicious, particularly the scallops and squid croquet starters. The octopus main course was also great but the fish dish was overcooked. We had two beers produced by the restaurant and they were the best we had on this visit to Madrid. Perhaps it was due to the large crowd, but the reataurant was extremely noisy. It was difficult to converse across the table. Confusingly, there is a wine bar next door operated by the same people, but the wine bar must be entered through...
Read moreWe didn't get a chance to try their food but their wines are quite cheap (most were around 2 Euros) and were pretty good quality in my opinion. Went back there several times just for the wine! Only reason why I'm giving them less than 5 stars is because of their poor service. They show an obvious disdain towards Americans and one of the waiters was very rude. You'll recognize him by his ugly manbun and surly demeanor. He pretended he couldn't speak or understand English when we asked him questions about ordering food but when it came time to pay he whipped out his English instantly. I suppose he suddenly became fluent in English when it was time to ask us for money. Terrible attitude and really was the worst service person we came across during our entire...
Read moreAmazing place, truly authentic Spanish food. Great option as for tapas only, as for a full dinner.
Highly recommended to try Pulpo a la gallega if you’re here. Extremely tender octopus, must try if you like seafood. Also definitely must try mussels and clams! Fresh and delicious seafood cooked in traditional Spanish way. Don’t forget to try traditional Spanish croquettes with cheese and jamon! Their local white wine there is something that can’t leave you indifferent: dense gold color, honey and apple notes - very interesting and particular taste.
Special thanks for extremely friendly and attentive service that added a pleasant atmosphere to the dinner.
Very much liked it, definitely...
