The place is nice and cozy, the food is good but this place excels at its service and attention. The hostess and waiters were very charming and charismatic, but our waiter, Arpita, takes the golden star. She was very sweet and very attentive to us. We ordered a variety of plates, but the plates that stood out in flavor were the Pollo Alla Caccioatora and the Lasagna di Zia Lidia; the other plates (Risotto Frutti di Mare, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and Gnocchi alla Vicentina) could have used more of the subtle Italian flavor/seasoning - to avoid using salt and pepper on the table, specially on the seafood dishes that need the soft flavoring to mask the fishy aroma). But the overall experience was nice, they even gave us complimentary “chupe” (soup like shots) on the house. What is a lovely environment was somewhat spoiled by the service we received. Upon ordering (after waiting 10 minutes for the waitress to show up) we told her about my girlfriend's allergies, instead of advising us in a polite manner, she immediately became defensive. Of course we understand that any restaurant cannot necessarily guarantee that anything that does not contain an allergen in the ingredients will be free of accidental traces, that is always a risk when eating out. After feeling let down by this lack of clarity and poor treatment we decided to leave. On leaving we explained the situation to the manager and were asked if we had been shown the allergen menu....no we had not. As the customer I was expecting much more, especially after the recommendations I had received about this place. Horrible experience. I went there to celebrate my birthday: I’ve booked in advance, I specifically booked for 13:00 so that we have enough time before closing. Waiters were disturbing us every 3 min (literally) and it was impossible to have any conversation. They were pushing to order, faster, faster, and in the end we found out they have another reservation at 3. No one told us about it in advance. I was asking them to stop pushing please and still no one listened. We felt pressure all the time. Was it worth it? They had a lot of other tables empty. No one offered any alternative.
