We visited the restaurant on 7 September with my boyfriend. The restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel Totem Madrid which is in the same neighborhood of the restaurant. We arrived to the restaurant and welcomed by a host who asked for reservation and we said we don't have. She said they have one table available inside the restaurant and we accepted. We ordered our food and a bottle of wine. After 1 or 2 hours the same person came and told us - in a very rude way - that we have to leave because the table is reserved. We didn't understand and said our food and wine is not finished and nobody told us that the table was booked otherwise we wouldn't be accepting and or order our food bearing in mind the timing and we refused to leave as we didn't finish our food and that they were not showing us another table as well. Then another host came with credit card machine and said exactly ' you have to leave the table , this is your bill! ' showing the machine. I repeated the same thing that our food is not finished. She didn't care, she asked us again to make the payment and leave. I asked for the manager to ask and understand further the situation and to explain the situation because obviously the host didn't care and she didn't even reply.
We travel all around the world and try many different restaurants. I never seen in any restaurant no matter what the place and area , such a bad, unprofessional way of treating a customer and besides who is still continuing his/her dinner and drink. It is a big pity and a big disappointment that a place in such a good area is behaving like this. Anyone reading this review I would recommend you to go to huge selection of beautiful restaurants in the area as we tried many of them during our stay and this was the one and only place with this attitude...
Read moreI had dinner at Quintin last night Wednesday May 21 Overall I had a disappointing and a very poor experience. While the food was good to ok, the arrogance and incompetence of the restaurant staff made it impossible to enjoy my dinner. After being seated, I waited until a server dropped a menu on my table. No hello, no introductions, no communication whatsoever. After waiting for 15 minutes to order a glass of wine , a second server approached me and asked if I was ready to order. I ordered an appetizer and said I'd order the rest of my dinner in 5 minutes . To which he responded, " it's much easier if you order everything now". Wow, again surprised by the lack of professionalism and poor customer skills. What was was really going on? Poor training? Poor management? I didn't see a manager on the floor. Or perhaps it was that with so many different servers taking care of a customer, no one really had accountability for the overall customer experience. I understand that the restaurant business is difficult. And it's not always easy to deal with so many different customers. But at the end of the day, I think respect for customers is something that is non-negotiable. It just has to be there. Restaurants, like other businesses, have to start with the customer experience and then work backwards from there. It doesn't work any other way. I just did a more thorough reading of the customer reviews. I can see that there are many good reviews but far too many reviews that are similar to mine above. My guess is there are some common and correctable issues that need to...
Read moreMy husband and I were raised in restaurant business and I ONLY give positive reviews. If we have a bad experience we just don’t go back. That being said, how we were treated is essentially robbery and needs to be shared.
The staff is extremely rude, environment not welcoming and unfriendly. Caught the staff rolling their eyes several times at us and annoyed by our menu choices. We stopped ordering because of how we were being treated! When we asked for our bill they tried to slip in a 112€ bottle of wine that we did not order or get. Thankfully we noticed before paying and questioned our waitress. When she realized she was caught she snickered to the other staff. They called over their lead staff person to address and it was obvious she was in on it too! She did not apologize tried to justify, then reluctantly took it off our bill. They also charged us 16€ for a very small tasting of pumpkin soup and dry bread that we did not ask for and acted like this is normal! What????
Prior to Madrid we had been to Paris and Amsterdam. We travel overseas often and my husband works in Madrid several times a year. This by far was our worst experience at a restaurant ever! I gave 2 stars only because food was decent and setting beautiful.
FYI Quinton, our restaurant tabs during travel ranged from 300€ ~ 4,000 €. We would not waist our time or money in an establishment that thinks they are better than their customers. You missed...
