Restaurante Bel Mondo — Restaurant in Madrid

I have been to many Big Mamma restaurants around the world, I was literally at the soft opening of the new London restaurant the week before) and was not overly planning on going here, however I read a review that said this was one of the best of them, so decided to go when I had visitors here in Madrid. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Generally they did well, although I ordered a second glass of wine to have with my main dish and waited 20 minutes for it, so decided to cancel it (I was very happy to see this was not included on my bill, without having to ask). We ordered the steak tartare, which was ok, if not too much coriander, which came with some of the hardest slices of toast I have ever tried to bite through. My guest ordered one of the pizzas and this was fairly consistent with others across the different restaurants- we like them, so we liked this one. I ordered the carbonara, and it was the worst carbonara I have every had - overly sloppy, had clearly been sitting due to the slight skin on it, I had pumped out for the extra truffle, which was a total waste of money as it got entirely lost within the absolute immense amount of pepper that had been put in the dish. It was not a carbonara, it was pepper, on pasta in a flavourless sauce. This is nowhere near the quality of other Big Mamma restaurants. I usually always allow restaurants to make right any issues I have, however I was not asked and we were pretty much ignored as the restaurant got busier (as I say, I waited 20 minutes for a wine that I had to cancel). It is clear they have misunderstood the flavours and cleaness that is really needed for good...

Sad to say but this place was one of the most disappointing experiences i have ever made in a restaurant. Me and my friends are big fans of the big mamma restaurants and have been to several other locations in europe. That is why we have been looking forward to spending our dinner here.

Safe to say that this restaurant is more than gorgeous. Every inch is beautifully decorated and worth a picture. We would recommend making a reservation beforehand and coming as soon as possible to save the best spots on the terrace underneath the beautiful bushes and lights. The menu has a big variation and offers of course the iconic big mamma dishes.

For the special occasion we decided to order two cocktails and the Carbomamma for two, which is prepared in a cheese wheel right besides you. In addition to that we ordered extra truffel for an additional price per person.This is where everything started going wrong. The server came with two plates on which the pasta combined hardly looked enough for one person…

While preparing the pasta in the morning wheel our server dropped almost half of the entire bacon and left us with 3 pieces each. Then he proceeded to give us the tiniest amount of truffle you could barely taste nor see. Mind you we paid more than twenty euros each for that children sized plate of almost cold noodles and 3 pieces of bacon and truffle.

After finishing our meal in two bites we left the restaurant still hungry and significantly poorer.

The table besides us also ordered the Carbomamma and was also visibly dissappointed.

So we definitely do not recommend this dish and would rather choose any pizza over this...

So today I went with my family to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday. We were a group of 9 people sitting at Table 110-111-112. Beautiful restaurant!

Our waiter provided us very bad service. His attitude was rude. I don’t know his name but he wear glasses. I understand our reservation was at 1:30 pm and some of us arrived at 1:45 including my self and others arrived on time

During the entire lunch we felt that he was rushing us with the drinks and later with the food. Why the rush? We are chilling , it is Monday and restaurant was not packed

At the end for the dessert. There were broken plates and spoons were thrown over the table.

One of my family member ordered a Coffee , Cheesecake and a Coke zero. They confirmed the order twice. First by the lady if desserts and later the guy of glasses and never arrived. We ordered a Chilly cocktail to try and we were advised we need to leave or order fast because there was another table. The restaurant had other big tables but OK

No idea what happened. This was my second time. The first time i sat down with my wife at the bar table and the restaurant was pritty packed . Service was great but today we felt like we were not welcome at the restaurant. We spent around 245-280 Euros

We just came to enjoy my mother in law’s birthday and service was very very very bad.
