Fantastic hidden (or not so hidden?) gem in downtown Madrid.
Quality Japanese cuisine at competitive prices with great service!
I have explored the Madrid scenery for great Japanese food that delivers on the expectations of Japan based restaurants and European capitals such as London or Paris. I was impressed when I came to taste Minato (港區).
Food and produce is locally sourced and fresh for the day using Japanese ingredients and raw material.
There’s sushi, sashimi bowls, ramen, curry and a plethora of hot and cold dishes. The drinks menu is also supported by a wide range of Japanese spirits and liquors.
You will see traditional Japanese techniques and dishes and some of them will have some tweaks made by the masterful chef!
Minato has found the right balance between flavorful and quality dishes in a price range that works for most!
The chef and service team have a long family tradition of working in gastronomy and hospitality and you will find service in Japanese, English and Spanish.
We will be coming back for sure and it has quickly become our go...
Read moreHands down one of the best Japanese spots I’ve hit in Madrid! Every single dish was fire, seriously tasty across the board. Gotta give a special shoutout to the edamame (I know it’s just a simple starter, but wow, probably the best I’ve ever had. No joke) The stuffed eggplant was next-level, and the sushi pieces were top tier too. Honestly, everything was on point - nothing felt like filler. But here’s the kicker… the value. We’re talking 35€ per person for all that quality? Wild. Best bang for your buck I’ve had at a Japanese joint, period. And the staff? Super friendly, super pro, and they didn’t rush us at all (even stayed open til the end just for us to wrap up… respect). No doubt this place was a total surprise and it’s now officially one of my go-to favorites in Madrid. That’s saying something. Can’t wait...

We went back here the second time not even a week apart😝 Honestly i don’t have any bad things to say about this place. The ambience is good, the service is lovely, when we ordered Nigiri they have someone explaining to us whats going on in the plate which we appreciate a lot. If you are a matcha lover you HAVE to try their matcha lava cake its delicious, still daydreaming about it tbh😂 this restaurant is one of the most amazing restaurants experience i have in Madrid (and i dont have much good...
