Santa Isabel Bar — Restaurant in Madrid

Average sized bar with average food. We ordered a few things to eat and a couple drinks each. We did however notice that Spanish customers were being given snacks/small tapas with their drinks but we were given nothing. I spoke Spanish with the waiter but still it seems foreigners are treated differently to Spanish people, which doesn't seem good...

Voy con dos amigas, una de ellas ya había estado allí, y Ángel, uno de los dos camareros ya la había tratado mal a ella y a un grupo de ocho personas con el que fue en otra ocasión. Nos contaba su última experiencia (nefasta) en la puerta mientras fumábamos. Queríamos entrar a tomar algo porque había dentro ya otros amigos, y a pesar de lo que nos contaba nuestra amiga, nos hemos decidido a darle una oportunidad (por los amigos que ya había dentro, más que nada). Detalle a tener en cuenta: voy con mi hija de 10 meses, que aún no camina, en el carro. No ha hecho falta ni medio segundo. Desde la puerta, entrando, ha dicho Ángel: “Carros no, lo tienes que plegar.”; le he preguntado que qué hago con mi hija entonces, y su respuesta ha sido únicamente: “Carros no. Plegados.” ¡NO HABÍA NADIE EN EL LOCAL! Literal, sólo el grupo al que nos queríamos unir, y una mesa de dos o tres en el otro extremo. Nunca he visto nada igual.

Great place to grab a quick full meal during the day. It offers a nice ambiance with window seatings that allow for pedestrians watching as they stroll down the street. The food quality is great too and the service is adequate given how many patrons are there during the daytime. I revisit the place...
