Sibuya Urban Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Madrid

Very disappointed. Ordered beer, soft drink, gunkan lovers set and nigiri lovers special set. To the beer they brought a dirty wine glass. The waiter explained that there were problems with the dishwasher and brought another dirty glass. My boyfriend thought maybe the waiter didn’t like him personally and tried to insult him by bringing dirty glasses, so he checked the glasses on other empty tables and they were dirty too 😖. That scared us a lot, because if they serve extremely dirty wine glasses for everyone and have such problems with hygiene, then it’s dangerous to eat raw fish at this restaurant, that’s why we didn’t ordered more food. There are no non-alcoholic cocktails - they only make them on weekends. We were the first customers at 20:30 and waited an hour for food. The food was 3/5, but there was a lot of fatty mayonnaise instead of tobico mayo. The price-quality ratio is very high. there is no women's toilet, in the men’s toilet the door does not close, surprisingly the toilet was very clean. the waiters barely speak English, it was very difficult to talk. I do not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic asian cuisine. The Man from the neighbor table also showed by his facial expressions that he didn’t like the food. I did not have a reservation. The person in the front told me rudely I could only sit at the front. While I understand that the other tables could have been reserved, the tone of the person was rude and unwelcoming. The waiter who took my order later was more friendly. However, my drink was also mixed up and the final blow came when after paying( and even leaving a small tip) they ran out and chased me to tell me I had “shortchanged” them. I went back to the restaurant only for them to realize that they had made a mistake. The mistakes could have been all been genuine, but as someone who just wanted a simple dinner, the overall dining experience...

I'm really surprised how this place is able to get such a high rating! I'm being generous in giving them a 3-stars. Starting with sashimi, tuna was ok and salmon tasted like it was prepared earlier and saved to be quickly served but forgotten to be served... Service is too slow, people are distracted. Waiters sneezing into their hands and serving without washing the hand. As if they didn't watch any covid19 videos where the whole humanity was told how to sneeze or cough.... I'm grieving for Janatomo, which was recently closed.... I'll have to wait for trips to NYC or Japan for a decent and reasonably priced Japanese...
