La Cocina de Frente is one of those places that you should not miss if you are looking for top-notch products and traditional cuisine done in a wonderful way.

Yesterday we enjoyed a surprising stew with two friends. First of all, some "ropa Vieja" croquettes, with all the flavor of the stew components and an incredibly creamy texture. To continue a first-class broth with some delicious chickpeas (can be repeated all you want, just ask for it), first-class meat that melts in the mouth, sweet and full of flavor, chorizo, blood sausage and top-quality bacon, which made the dish a delight . Finally, a crunchy toast to spread a spectacular marrow (tuetano) that tasted heavenly.

For the stew you are required to make a reservation 48 hours in advance and it is for the entire table.

Marzo2021. Una buena sorpresa. Un muchacho joven llevando la cocina. Ves cómo prepara los platos, que son sabrosos, suficientemente abundantes y con toques originales. Me han gustado mucho las judías verdes con gambas y las albóndigas con pimienta verde y patatas. Igualmente el precio bastante adecuado. Repetiremos seguro, esperamos encontrar mesa porque me parece que va a llenarse. Abril2021. Vino de la casa bueno. Atención justa en familiaridad sin pasarse, suficientemente profesional, te hace sentirte cómodo sin entrometerse y sin comentarios que te hagan sentirte incómodo. Poder compartir los platos y que se sirvan emplatados para cada comensal es un plus que no es habitual y me gusta mucho. Poder comer con cuchara o tenedor cada plato me gusta mucho. Salsa suficiente en los platos con salsas me gusta mucho. La temperatura de los platos casi muy bien, quizás para mí me gustaría pelín más caliente, pero no dije nada porque entiendo que es una temperatura quizás habitual para el resto de comensales. Destacable que para un tragón como yo es suficiente cantidad. Puedo comer más, obviamente, pero la cantidad es los platos no creo que se pueda nadie quejar. Quizás indagar más en los postres. Y quizás a mí el pan de masa madre me gusta más. Creo que se ha cambiado y el anterior a mí me gustaba, pero creo que no os gustaba del todo a vosotros. Por mi parte indagar más sobre el pan y sustituirlo cada vez que el cliente lo termine. No quise pedir más pan, pero quizás hubiera querido que me lo sirvieran. Las vasos del agua con gas me gustaron mucho. Muy grata experiencia. Esta vez fui con mi amigo que me criticaba antes por ir a un sitio "casa de comidas" podríamos decir, pero salió muy, muy contento. El busca más lo moderno que lo tradicional y a mí me parece que precisamente el cocinero aporta una mezcla interesante y así lo vio mi amigo. A great find near Retiro, specializing in “cocido” (Spain’s most famous one pot stew and very popular in Madrid) and served creatively in several separate dishes, which include a final serving of beef marrow on toast, topped with celery.
