22/05/22 A family experience,
Context: Family of 5, eating food with bill amount of €100 approx. Within the family, intention of trying everything and enjoys genuine flavourism meals.
TLDR comments: Microwaved food (it feels like, unsure on the reality), lack of significant variety, drinks sub-par (for a tavern you would rate the drinks higher than the food but that was not the case).
Ratings are OVERRATED and OVER-PUSHED (they provide qr codes for you to review the establishment after providing alcoholic shots, feels unauthentic/fabricated gave me the idea of writing a genuine legit review from my experience)
Ordered with detailed review:
Sangria - Terrible, watered down/left in ice for a long time, tasted of flavoured water.
Patatas Bravas - best item on the menu, the sauce was flavourism and very enjoyable to share, a definitive MUST HAVE.
Rope vieja - tasteful, although felt microwaved. For improvements, the potato "chips" should not be the only side to the dish, and the shredded beef be checked to standard.
Table Ibericon Jamon - the ham itself was very nice, a staple to spanish cuisine. However felt a little uncreative in relation to other restuarants
Croquettas - cheesy, unsure if opinions due cheesyness not being a valid determination.
Dessert not ordered due to a disappointment...
Read moreWe came here at around 4:00pm for a very early dinner as we were waiting for the museum to offer free entry.
We ordered the sangria (4,80), patata bravas (5,90), chipirones (6,90), risotto (5,95) and shrimp (6,50). The sangria was really fruity and delicious. Not overly strong which was nice. The chipirones were so melt in your mouth tender. It went so well with the white sauce on the bottom. The patatas bravas was not my favourite. I prefer the fried version and this version tasted more oven baked. The risotto was also not my cup of tea. Very creamy but not what I have in mind when thinking risotto. The shrimp was my favourite along with the chipirones. It was very crispy and well flavoured with garlic. I love that for a lot of the menu you could order half portions so you can try more items.
The service was very accommodating. We were the only ones in the restaurant and they were still checking up on us often. The music is very much to our liking. At the end they gave us shots on the house which was nice. This place feels a bit touristy as the menu has so much English on it but the food is still pretty good and the price is cheap for the quality you get.
Tip: order half portions so you can order a wider...

We asked for an English menu, and they didn't have one-ish. The names are in Spanish and the descriptions are in English. Some menu items had half portion as an option, which is nice to try a variety. When we were ordering, the server would give his opinion about which to get full or half portion.
Food: -tinto de verano €3,50 -gambones al ajillo €13,50 (full) - really really good. The server came by later with a plate of pan and advised us to eat it together. We dipped that bread in the garlic oil and cleaned up the plate real gooddddddd. -huevos rotos con jamón €12,90 (only one portion size) - I wanted more eggs, but this dish was still good the way it was. Not sure I'd get it again. The ham was good. -risotto de boletus €11,90 (full) - delicious!! The ham gave the dish a crispy texture and really fragrant. I didn't expect to love this dish so much, but I did.
The paella had two stars next to it on the menu. Maybe I'll get that next time.
