Wilko Speciality Coffee — Restaurant in Madrid

Their service is at an all time low. They don’t greet you when you enter, and seem annoyed when they have to explain something to you. Not only that, but as I got there I chose to sit at a spot in the corner next to a group of people. I asked the barista if it was okay and she said yes. LITERALLY in less than 3 minutes after receiving my coffee the group next to me is accompanied by their friends. Instead of taking on a first come first serve mentality I was asked to move immediately, “you have to sit here because they are together”. When I said I wasn’t feeling like sitting there anymore and asked for a takeaway, they poured my coffee which I had barely drunk into a cup without a lid so it turned cold immediately. I mean for 3.20€ and not even being able to sit there, you could’ve offered to make me a new one. What surprises me is that there are people like this who clearly aren’t happy with working in a service-related job continue to do so! I have myself worked in a cafe for some time and it’s not for everyone, so if you hate dealing with people and showing basic decency then maybe this job...

I liked the coffee and I did actually like the food but the guy working there (or the rules he follows) are so rude. They have four seats tables and two seats tables. I sat at a four seats table on my own, the barista came and told me that I cannot sit there on my own. There were no other tables available, so I kept asking “Where should I move”, and he was just telling me that I cannot sit there. Should I sit on the ground while I wait for my food? How can people so blindly follow the rules that they become so rude? He could have just suggested to move me once a different table is available, no problem, I would understand. We were staying nearby and the owner of the apartment recommended this cute cafe for breakfast. They have: Great coffee (alternative milk options) Highly recommend the chicken sandwich it was reaaally nice, the filled croissant also good 👌🏽 (the day before they served us a dish that my friend wasn’t happy with and they were super respectful and changed it immediately, that’s just good with clients that made us come back and trust them more) The service is amazing 😻 The staff is lovely and the all speak English (kinda inlove with the barista, she is sooo pretty 😍)
