4 of us had our lunch here a few days ago as its so near the beach. We got 3 jumbo fry ups and my wife ordered a burger. When the meals arrived we asked a young man about 25 in a white top and black trousers if we could get some pepper and some butter for our toast. He never came back. My sister asked an older man in jeans if she could get another Tea bag as the one she got had burst. He very quickly returned with the tea bag. The food itself was not great. The sausages we had in the fry, tasted off. My wife's burger was horrible, so she removed it and made a chip sandwich. At no point did anyone ask us if the food was OK or seem to care. We did not want to cause a fuss and ruin our beach day, so we paid the bill and left. I know it's a cheap and cheerful pit stop but someone needs to care. We will never return.

El Pirata is a solid beachside restaurant with good food, quick service, and fair prices. We stopped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The tapas were fresh, the seafood was cooked properly (not overdone like in some tourist spots), and the portions were just right, not stingy, not over the top. The view of the beach adds to the experience without inflating the bill. Staff were friendly and efficient, even though the place was quite busy. It didn’t feel rushed or chaotic, just well run. It’s a good choice if you want something casual but decent, and you can comfortably bring kids along too.

We came here as it looked nice from the outside and had a live singer. My partner and I went for the sirloin steak with Roquefort sauce, the sauce was revolting and had the consistency of drying pva glue and that wasn’t even the worst part. Our steak, which we asked for rare, came out completely cremated (but somehow with none of the bbq flavour that was advertised), along with the soggy chips and boiled carrots on the side to add salt to the wound - minus any actual seasoning.

We where triggered by the charcoal grill outside but unfortunately the chef doesn't know how to cook a proper steak. I've asked for a medium rare steak but the steak was pretty much well done. Also the half chicken wasn't actually grilled, it was more some kind of boiled in a sauce. Not very tasty at all. The breast of the chicken was also very dry and almost impossible to eat. The vegetables served with the meat where terrible.

The only positive about this place is the location and the atmosphere. The staff was very kind and there was live entertainment.

If you stop by for a drink, go for it. If you look for a nice meal, go...
