Unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing experiences I have had so far in Andalusia. The almond soup had an overwhelming taste of vinegar rather than almonds and garlic - at the same time, our shellfish soup turned out to be tasteless. Typical Andalusian friendliness and openness are nowhere to be seen here - the service is cold at best, and kept mumbling to us, not even bothering to communicate.
Main course turned out to be just as bad - white fish completely bland, prawn or shrimp sauce had no taste and the main ingredient wasn't really recognizable. Swordfish was acceptable though far from great, and at the same time the sides were barely edible due to composition and almost complete lack of spices.
At this point we would not even risk to have a dessert and just went with coffee.
The climate of the interiors of this place is a truly lost potential - it is well decorated and could be considered quite a lovely restaurant, if not for the school canteen quality of the dishes and the attitude of the waiters.
Overall, the experience and meals weren't really worth their price. Given how tourism-oriented Nerja is, and how much it reminds us of most frequented sites back in Poland, especially Zakopane, we can only guess the owners of this restaurant simply do not care about quality.
One more remark after our visit here - turns out we've got food poisoning after our...
Read moreHidden gem in the heart of Nerja! I came across this restaurant because of the good reviews, even though we had low expectations (it was empty and we were in a very touristy area) we left being amazed by how good the food was. Great portion sizes, good to share Tapas style. The service was attentive and the food served in a timely manner. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful and it felt like it had sort of an Asian fuzion touch. I can recommend everything we had: papas bravas, scallops, bao bun and gambas pil pil. Every dish was colorful, well presented, tasty and the prices were great as well. I will definitely go back next time I...
Read moreEste restaurante es perfecto. This restaurant is a true gem in the busy streets of Nerja centre. The menu is diverse, what I would call traditional Spanish tapas and meals BUT with a twist. And in the twist is the magic and it becomes a fusion style cuisine with every dish a well thought out balance of flavors and ingredients. This is our one compulsory thing on the to do list every visit to Nerja. We hope that La Brasseria will continue to deliver this high quality standard, then we'll have a fantastic...
