I don’t know what I expected when I ordered the yakisoba, but “three lonely pieces of chicken swimming in a pile of noodles that taste like an ashtray” wasn’t it... And, speaking of ashtrays, the dish it was served in bore an uncanny resemblance to one.
The service? Equally "delightful"—if you enjoy being ignored. Our waiter spent most of his time pretending our table didn’t exist, only making an appearance to shut down our simple request to have our sashimi as half salmon, half tuna. Apparently, that was a logistical nightmare, as he explained that making it half and half would somehow result in two fewer pieces and a higher price. Brilliant business strategy—he’d rather lose the entire order than accommodate a minor request. We had a deeply disappointing experience at this restaurant—not just due to the poor food and service, but also because of the way they handle customer feedback. Instead of responding professionally to criticism, they chose to take it personally, showing zero business manners. Running a restaurant means accepting that not every customer will be happy, and the right response is to improve, not to react defensively like a child.
As for our experience, the dish was a joke—completely subpar, and the service was even worse. The fact that we changed seats three times was mentioned in their response as if that somehow justified their shortcomings. How is that even relevant? A professional establishment would focus on addressing the real issues instead of making excuses.
And for the record, we are not tourists "on holiday." We are residents who expect quality and respect for our money. Perhaps this restaurant is used to serving tourists who don’t know better. If they want to be taken seriously beyond fleeting holiday traffic, they need to pull themselves together and start delivering real value to...
Read moreAdmittedly we arrived late to dine, but assuring the kitchen was open we were shown to a table. Sticky table, sticky menu, so much so had there been time to go dine elsewhere we probably would have. For speed we immediately ordered the first two items on the menu, Tuna Sashimi and a Sushi boat (mixed maki, urimaki, california, nigiris,...). The food was "okey". Had better (had worse!). The cucumber was curling up around the edges. The wasabi was very dry. Half way through eating the waiter asked if we wanted anything else as the kitchen was closing. We responded we may want a dessert and were assured that was not a problem. Finished dining we both ordered dessert and a spirit/mixer. Our desserts were served, and within a minute so was our bill. Before we could barely blink the waiter was back again with the PDQ asking if we were paying by cash or card. I suggested he transfer my drink to a take-away cup, as clearly neither of us were going to get to finish off our meal in a leisurely manner. Whilst we appreciate many have suffered this past 18 months, the whole place had an air of neglect - curled up carpet, dried out plants, ... and stickiness everywhere - for which a little elbow grease...
Read moreFirst of all when we arrived, the entire restaurant was empty, we were the only people there, we had already been considering leaving, but decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. My partner had ordered some sushi and I had ordered the Pekín duck. Sushi arrived, which was mediocre. About 40 minutes later my duck still had not arrived. Once we got the attention to the server, he had told us that he assumed the Peking duck was for after the sushi ( which is fine and understandable mistake) and that he would tell the chef to cook the duck (from the way the server had said this it was under the impression the dish hadn’t even been made yet) Not even two minutes later, he came out with the duct dish, which was questionable about how fast it was made. Have to say for €16.50 it had to be the worst quality. 90% of the duck dish was fat, very little actual duck. And the hoisin sauce was a little bit chunky and cold. I feel like for the price you pay it was an absolute rip off. after having this dish and still being hungry, we decided to get the bill so we could go...
