Andana's food was absolutely delicious. Eat here, not once, but multiple times! For a non-pork eater, the menu seemed skim but it forced us to order out of our comfort zone and we didn't regret it. We saw a good number of locals eating there so we knew it was a good sign. Here is a list of what we ate: patatas bravas, mashed potato, carrots, vegetable croquette, lentils with red shrimp paella, and steak tartar.
The patatas bravas were so crispy, fresh, and just melted in your mouth. The potatoes were well seasoned, AND the sauce they added on top just took it to the next level. We tried ordering patatas bravas at every restaurant that had it on the menu in Palma and this was the absolute best! The mashed potatoes were light, with a little cream and so much delicious garlic. The carrots and vegetable croquette were so yummy and memorable (I can still taste it as I type). The lentil paella was a pleasant surprise! The lentil had all the flavors of a traditional paella with 3 prawns cooked beautifully on top. The steak was so good and came with a sauce that was a bit sweet but paired well with the meat. I am not a steak fan and this one absolutely won me over. We wanted to try the seabass but they didnt have it at the time, but I am sure it will be very amazing...
Read moreOur experience at Andana restaurant was the following: Extremely expensive for a tapas restaurant; One of tapas we ordered the waiter suggested to take one slightly different that was not in the menu, he did not inform us about the price and we realised it was double price in the end We ordered a tartar steak as tapas, there were 2 sizes, the waiter did not ask us what size we wanted, so he decided by himself to take the big one, which was much more expensive and it was not great Ordered beers, they bring them in wine glasses and the amount it is like wine, the beer was flat and warm. I ordered a 2nd beer, they brought a full glass this time. I was thinking...nice of them. It turned out they charged us as double beer... What is a double beer? Just a way to rip off clients. The tapas were ok, the best by far was the batatas bravas.
So, be careful what you order and don't let the waiters fool you. Their business model seems to involve some trickery and misdirection/misinformation. We paid a big bill without wine...
Read moreAfter visiting many restaurants around the world I can say that I had the worst dining experience ever in the Andana Palma.
Myself, partner and a 1 year old baby entered the restaurant at 6pm without a reservation. The restaurant was empty and the host gave us a table an informed that at 8:30 they would need the table back.
We ordered two starters and two main courses following the suggestion of the chef that received our order.
The service was slow, but we understood that the team was getting ready for the dinner shift. No stress because the baby was in a good mood and the starters were good.
Around 8:05 the main courses arrived, 3 minutes after, the host approached us, and informed us that would need to vacate the table for the 8:30 guests.
We got up and ordered the bill immediately without having the main course. Note that the restaurant was still empty with only another pair of guest seated.
The floor manager didn't charge us for the main courses however this really left a sour taste since it was our last...
