Augusta — Local services in Palma

Sala Augusta is a classic, traditional cinema, in an excellent central location near the internodal train/bus station, Sóller rail station and the Plaza Espańa. It's a bit of a relic of the past, which adds to the atmosphere (unlike the sterile modern multiplexes...) so don't expect state of the art seating and fittings, but the sound and projection are excellent, and the films are offered dubbed, subtitled or in the original language (so check first). Some of the screens are tucked away behind a labyrinth of passageways, so leave plenty of time to get to your seat after buying your popcorn. 4 stars because it's a classic and needs support - where else can you see a variety of new releases smack in the centre of town? It's struggling and does need a bit of TLC, so.....support the...

Ayer voy al cine. Aparque en una calle antes de Archiduque Salvador , donde esta el banco Santander pensando que era el parking donde tienen convenio con el cine . Llego a la taquilla y le pregunto si es el parking y me dice que es otro a la altura de Blanquerna y me explica donde exactamente. Voy alli a aparcar de nuevo en este que me informa tengo 3h gratuitas exactamente. Vuelvo y sigo otra vez con el taquillero de la izquierda. Le compro las entradas y no me dice mas.. Mi sorpresa es que al llegar al parking me dice q tenian que haberme dado en el cine un ticket para validar el del parking. Pense que como el taquillero aun sabiendo que iba a aparcar alli y volviendo con mi amigo a comprar las entradas al no decir nada mas, di por hecho que tendria que enseñar los tickets del cine. Tuve que ir otra vez corriendo al cine y volver.. Me dice el chico q tiene cientos de personas. Casualidad las 2 veces estuve en taquilla una no tenia a nadie y otra solo 2 personas q se iban cuando llegue. Menudo ajetreo! Le digo cabreada lo que me ha pasado y que me deberia haber informado al ver que ni siquiera sabia donde estaba el parking y que nunca lo habia hecho que menos que informar o darme el ticket del parking cuando compraba las entradas. Todavia va el compañero y me dice que soy yo la que le tenia que preguntar... Por favor , yo he sido taquillera y con tickets de 3'40 euros hacia en un turno mas de 6000 euros. Eso si que es tener gente y en una oficina de transporte de viajeros con colas enormes y mucho estress y lios. Algunos cuanto menos hacen mas amolondrados estan porque si yo le informo cuando me pregunta alguien ..que donde es el parking y cuanto tiempo dan... Ve despues de explicarme y repetirme exactamente donde estaba el parking gratuito del cine, que ve no tengo idea pq nunca lo hice y a los 15-20 min vuelvo al mismo y oye! se queda tal cual cuando compro las entradas. Pienso que hay que tener mas detalle y esforzarse mas en lo que es ayudar al publico y lo que es parte de su trabajo informar... Quizas ha sido algo puntual pero a veces veo un pasotismo de cara de atencion al cliente que pienso hay gente que no tiene trabajo y lo harian con mas devocion, simpatia y empatia...

Never again! The cinema is dirty, smells, the stuff is unfriendly and the woman selling the popcorn asked for extra money as we did not buy the popcorn in a package with the entrance tickets (which no one told us before)! The entrance for 2 adults and a child on Monday was 13.50€. 2x Popcorn, 1 Coke and 2 Aqaurius = 14.10€ - No wonder if this cinema will not exist anymore soon if they continue to treat their guests like that. I really love to go to the cinema, but an experience like that let me think to stay at home and watch the movie on the TV or...
