I like to be totally fair with restaurants and can accept the fact that a plate can be over cooked but if this does happen I do expect it to be rectified or atleast not charged, this obviously was not the case with cassanova, the first dish we ordered of almejas was absolutely delish however things quickly changed when the paella negra arrived. I have a lot of experience with arroz negra o paella negra and is a standard dish I order when available on the menu, let me tell you this is NOT how paella is supposed to be cooked ever ....the rice was totally dehydrated and was fried to make things worse the burnt had tainted all the rice making the whole thing taste completely burnt, this was not soccaral as the lady was trying to explain I know what soccaral is and this was absolutely not it, this was a burnt rice that had lost the little moisture that was added to cook. To prove my point another customer that was sitting next to us who had also ordered paella negra completely agreed with what I had told the waitress (who I must say was very nice and totally not her fault) the paella was not ok. We literally had a few spoonfulls and had to leave the entire thing that was almost €60 down the drain , this should have been not charged or a alternative offered but this was never done. Read moreOne of the best places to go by the bay, with a beautiful open terrace and a view of the bay and beach second to none in the area. If you want an open air restaurant or bar, this is the one. Great service and you can see the effort to welcome clients, I am sure I eill resturn for food, this time I had coctails only and got ther by bike, 5 km ride on the closed beach street from my Hotel (Akron Park Resort). Coctails were good but made the mistake of asking to alter the mix as I likemy cocktails with double alcoholic content, some bartenders know how to make that work in this case they didn't, but that doesn't make it a bad bar experience as my wife and daughter drinks were perfect. Great selection of food, startersand full meals. I will come back to try the food at some point because from the area it was the most elegant and attractive place and I do not mind paying a little extra for a place with such views and comfortable...
Read moreOrdered only 2 mains - waited over an hour for the food. The waiter was apologetic but did give an excuse that salmon takes about 25 mins to cook but that did not account for an hour wait.
The salmon was ok but the accompanying vegetables were strange. Fried mushrooms, baby carrots and asparagus. The carrots tasted frozen and the mushrooms were wet and oily. Asparagus was quite nice.
My partner had chicken and prawn noodles with 3 bits of chicken and 2 prawns. It was also very oily and lacked flavour. He did eat it but after not eating all day he said he had to and it wasn't cheap so he didn't want to waste it.
Disappointed in the food as well as the lack of response about the waiting time. If there are problems in the kitchen, do let your customers know or offer them bread or a drink...
