This review cost me over €200. The hotel tried to bribe & blackmail me after 36 hours of negotiating not to post this review. And would discount the inedible food & bill but only if we (the whole group) signed an NDA/gagging order not to post a negative review. We refused to sign, paid our bill & here it is! Saved this restaurant for the main meal for a very special 70th Birthday party with the assumption it would be better than those in town. It is far from the standards you get a most of the other restaurants in Puerto Pollensa & significantly lacking given the location at the Hotel I’lla D’Or. We were greeted by ‘You have this table for 90mins” No happy birthday, welcome to… Tasteless food at high prices, over an hour wait between starter & main, food sent back. The menu sounds great but as other reviews state it doesn’t live up to the hype. Prawn & salmon tartare was vile, Iberia ham crockets had no flavour. Don’t you just hate it when they come round drop bread on your side plate then they it appears on your bill. Whilst waiting we were teased with other tables mains coming to us by mistake multiple times, other groups came & went while we still waited & waited for our mains. Whilst waiting one of the group told the restaurant manager we would not be able to leave at the 90minute deadline as we had 15minutes left & still had not had our starter plates cleared. They sat there for 45minutes. Kids in the group food came out with the starters, which meant they then sat there for the duration with nothing. We sent the kids fish & chips back as it was a cheap frozen fish finger, that represented anything but fish. They exchanged for spaghetti & tomato sauce, which want stuck together left over pasta & what tasted like cheap tomato soup. Cod mains tasteless with no dressing in the salad. Fruiti de mare tagliatelle got sent back, again mushy, sandy shell fish, sloppy, stagnant pasta all stuck together, not al a carte as it was a huge stuck together blob, similar to school dinners. I could go on about the inadequacy of La Terressa lack of service & by the way our feedback was met, with aggression & denial. The arrogance of the management team & the offer to sign a gagging order beggars belief. As opposed to finding a resolution or accepting any responsibility for ruining what should have been a very special night they were more interested in trying to protect themselves. Too many covers, too many staff with no leadership. Poor quality ingredients. Even after our group staying at the property for 11 nights & a cost of...
Read moreI want to begin this review by saying that we fully understand that it is peak season for the Ilia D’Or. I had proposed to my girlfriend the day before this meal and wanted to book something special to celebrate. I sent a request to the Ilia Dor for a table near the ocean and stated in the booking request that it was for an engagement celebration. Upon arrival we stood by the entrance to the restaurant waiting around awkwardly. There was a strange atmosphere and all of the staff were stood in the restaurant looking at us and no one approached to ask if we had a booking. I called one waitress over and was bluntly asked if I had a booking. They could not find my booking at first and eventually bluntly took us to one of the tables at the back of the restaurant furthest away from the ocean. There was no acknowledgement of the engagement celebration. At this point my fiance was quite upset as we had one of the worst tables and it felt a really dismissive atmosphere . I got one of the waiters attention and showed them the booking request. We were made to feel like “it is the Illador what do you expect” when we asked to sit near the ocean. They made us feel like we should be lucky to even be there. We heard them talk and mention “congratulations “ and felt they brought us a glass of bubbly just to keep us quiet. It did not feel genuine. We just had the attitude that we would eat our food and leave and we were hopeful that the food would make up for the strange start. My fiance is vegetarian and chose a dish that included pumpkin and was 33 euros. It came out with 3 pieces of pumpkin undercooked and half a baby carrot. We could have made this at home for under £10. To make matters worse the tables near the ocean were all free the entirety of our meal and when we left. The bill was extortionate and we were charged 6 euros for 2 pieces of bread. When we questioned this the waiter rolled their eyes. We were greatly disappointed by this night. Coming to Port de Pollensa we had heard about the Ilia D’Or and thought it would be a good place to celebrate a special occasion. Would not recommend if you are looking for...
Read moreWe live in London, my father in law lives in Mallorca over 30 years, we booked this restaurant for our anniversary, the food was very nice, but very expensive so nothing impressed (we spend around 200 euros, you can get better food in this price no problem) the service was awful! The waitress who was sitting us was very rude and unfriendly, her English is not good I do understand but her altitude made you feel very bad. I booked the restaurant around a month ago, and made very specific request( not too much to ask, like every restaurant will ask for the special occasion), I requested a nice view table which we didn’t get, we were arranged sit in the middle (there are few tables near seaside, the waitress told us it’s impossible to sit any of them, we ordered 2 bottles of wine, and we have to pull them all by ourselves from the ice bucket ( I work in wine industry, for a restaurant like this you can’t imagine this), and when I booked the table I requested: can I have happy anniversary words on our dessert plate (like most of restaurants will do)? They seems forgot or ignored all my reasonable requests, then the manager came to tell us: no words on plate but can have a candle instead (they thought it’s a birthday!) I said ok….better than nothing, when the desserts came, no words on plates and no candle, then the manage told us the chef is forgot the birthday so no candle!!!! (When we sit down we have told them it’s our anniversary and asked them took photos for us)
This is the most ridiculous special occasion dinner I have ever had! some staff are very friendly but some are really rude and unfriendly, and the restaurant not very well organized running, I’m in wine industry and hospitality industry, you can’t imagine this kind of restaurant will survive very long in London with this kind of service, definitely...
