I am Spanish and I didn’t want to end up to the typical restaurant with frozen paellas and a guy outside of the restaurant with some menus and almost pushing you to get in for a dinner (you know how they work) so we stoped in a random bar to have a cortado café with my wife and I asked the waitress (who was local) where she would go with her boyfriend for a lovely local seafood restaurant. She said straight away: La Pescadería! So there we went and no regrets at all. We didn’t even see the menu. We arrived and David was inside. David is the chef but because we went after 4 o’clock we were practically the only table (except another table where a Spanish Lady from Galicia!! was eating octopus and she was there for third time in a week! imagine how good this restaurant has to be if a person from Galicia where you can find the very best seafood in the world is eating seafood there for the third time in a week!) and David was more outside of the kitchen than inside. I told him our story to arrive to the restaurant and he got me immediately. He said I can make a lovely seafood arroz caldoso (soupy rice) with some croquettes and I also asked for some local “Papas Arrugas” .Look at the pictures. Amazing! He recommended a pairing wine for the seafood. A dry white wine from Lanzarote. Everything was gorgeous and well priced I have to say. I fully recommend this restaurant to everybody looking for a local experience and for sure I’ll be back! Top seafood...
Read moreThere is a lot to say about this restaurant and all of it is good.
We arrived in Puerto Del La Cruz and seeked out places to eat, this was one of the first places we found and we used it almost every-day after that. The staff are very friendly and are always ready to help if you need assistance or just want to know about the local area. The restaurant itself is very clean and displays all the fish on the counter for you to have a look at.
The food is to die for, our favourite dish was the Iberian ham which had a very nice texture and flavour. I personally ordered Shrimps with cheese sauce for my first meal, definitely recommended, the shrimp was well done and the cheese sauce was delicious.
On our last day in Tenerife the lady working there gave us some shots and said have a safe journey home which was extremely nice of her as we'd only just met that week. I will be keeping this place on my recommendations for sure, an incredible atmosphere and...
Read moreI usually only give positive reviews, and I have given good marks for service and atmosphere. Yes, the service was a bit chaotic, but they were incredibly busy and trying to manage a lot of tables with only one waitress and one in the kitchen. I’ve been there, done that, in my working life and I understand how hard it is! But the food was not nice at all. It ranged from ordinary to dire. We normally don’t eat out in Puerto, choosing more local places to us out of town, but we had visitors who wanted to see the town. It was incredibly busy everywhere, but here there was a table for 4 and we were tired of wandering around. I shared the seafood spaghetti, which was very very salty, and I like plenty of seasoning. The mussels were very overcooked and unpleasant as was the one prawn. Sorry to say I shall not be going...
