Be aware of the dirty tricks

Nov 2024 • couples

They have a good food. But, they use some dirty tricks to take some extra money. They brought us two slices of bread with some kind of inedible mayonnaise. They weren't on the menu, they didn't warn us that there was an additional cost and they charged us 3 Euros. I asked for some pepper and two slices of lemon for the shrimp and calamari. They brought us a teaspoon of spicy sauce, which they charged 2.50 Euros, and two slices of lemon, which cost us an additional 2.50 Euros. To the cost of the ordered products - 29.70 Euros, they added - trick - another 8 Euros - 27%. Thank goodness I didn't ask for some salt or a toothpick! The additional costs would probably have been half the value of the bill. Also, if you are not Spanish, you should expect the glass of wine you order to be half full. Although the food was good, these disgusting tricks make us never return to...

A Gem of Authenticity and Warmth

My recent visit to this restaurant was an extraordinary experience. The establishment, with around 10 tables, is adeptly managed by an incredibly efficient and warm team of just two people. This remarkable setup not only offered a uniquely personal dining experience but also a deep appreciation for the authentic cuisine and philosophy of the proprietors.

Despite the challenge of a larger space for such a small team, the wait times were impressively short. This showcased the team's exceptional professionalism and efficiency. The service was quick, yet the atmosphere maintained a relaxed and friendly charm, enhancing the overall dining experience.

The food exemplified the authenticity and simplicity of the local cuisine, yet with some delightful surprises. The stuffed peppers, in particular, were a standout, offering a perfect blend of flavor and presentation.

The pricing was more than reasonable, making this restaurant a must-visit destination for anyone in search of an authentic, heartwarming, and affordable culinary experience. It’s a hidden gem that I wholeheartedly recommend! Due to the limited size reservations...

Beautiful and cosy place. Incredibly good food, best price for sure. The waitress was extremely good at selling because she didn‘t even try. She was genuinely nice and attentive. We walked by, ogling the food on the plates of two people sitting outside. After we had looked at the menu for a bit, trying to figure out what they were having, she came outside to tell us. She didn’t stand outside trying to lure us in, she only came after we had shown some interest and she answered our first questions without us having to ask. Everything about the place was right. The alley where it’s in is charming, with shoulder-high plants on both sides. It’s just the right atmosphere. The setting in La Cocina is modern but traditional and creative (ladles in frames with a tea candle in them to decorate the wall? So good!), the music was just right, the food was really good and was brought at exactly the right time.. it was a great experience from start to finish. We already talked about giving 5 stars after the soup and the salad but decided to wait for the meat - first bite in was when we decided we would definitely recommend it to anybody that...

We visited in june 2021 several times, but even now regularly we remember the fantastic food and the great service, we couldnt remember the name of the lively lady that served us everytime, but we definately remember the way she welcomed us and made us feel like family. She always had a smile, a nice word and called me ' mi cielo' ❤️, always very attentive to our every needs. The restaurant is hidden in a green street, you definately need a reservation to ensure a seat, however we were lucky a couple of times to get a table without. Cash only, although theres an atm close by. Every meal we ordered was more than extraordinary, best sangria in town by far, sometimes we didnt have room for desserts, because we wanted to try out as many dishes as possible and never disappointed.A very nice touch - on the tables you have a pot with fresh basil or mint, that in the wind of the evening gives out a very pleasant smell. We kept recommending the place to any friends that visited Puerto, it is a place we would gladly come back. Wish i could give more stars ✨️✨️✨️

The best place in the whole city ❤️ We've been living here for 10 days and tried quite a lot of food, but this place is just perfect! Let me tell you why: Food - It was super delicious, everything is fresh, and it's ready in 10/15 minutes. They offer a great mix of salty, sweet, and spicy flavors. Service - Upon entrance, we were warmly welcomed by the owner of the restaurant (we think it was him hihi), and we had a really nice conversation. He even recommended something special for us. Atmosphere - The restaurant is located on a narrow street adorned with beautiful green flowers. We paid - 42 euros (2 euros for water with lemon and mint, 40 euros for a deck with tapas). Be careful! You cannot use your phones; the owner will pay attention to this. Instead, enjoy your time there and engage in conversation with each other 🙌🏼 If you're reading this, please do try their food. We highly recommend it! ❤️

Wonderful service from the lovely waitress and chef. The waitress was very friendly, approachable and welcoming. I was very impressed how the chef was on his own and getting so many steaks and fries out, along with other meals and still had a smile on his face and happy to say goodbye when we were leaving. The music choices playing, were great, along with the beautiful interior of the restaurant. The only let down was the ladies bathroom looked very unfinished, there was one lovely wall but the rest of the bathroom was very unpleasant. The food was well made, a great portion size but could do with a little more seasoning. It's quite limiting that they only accept cash, we would have purchased more food if they accepted card payments, as we were limited on cash. Overall it was a lovely experience. :)
