I came here with high hopes, the reviews showed amazing looking paella and tapas but I was left incredibly disappointed. Firstly, after bringing a round of bread at the beginning of the meal, the plates for it were never taken away but a good fresh taste. After waiting an hour for appetisers they were average at best the highlight was a salad. An hour later our paella course came out, the el pescador paella way too salty and the lobster paella pictured below was a sad excuse for any Spanish dish. The rice was incredibly overcooked and flavourless the paella was served up with tones of broth, mostly flavourless as well. Overall, after waiting for over 2 hours it was definitely not worth it for us but after talking to the chef they admitted to it being a fluke, so it could have just been a personal bad experience so I wouldn’t completely count this restaurant out.

One of the best experiences we had on our trip was the visit to el pescador. We came in and we're greeted by lovely staff with a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge about fish. I wasn't sure what to order so the staff showed me all the fish and told me all about each one. Ended up going with their recommendation which was delicious. It's also worth mentioning that the staff debones the fish right at the table which is a great show. My friend took the dry aged steak and was extremely pleased too. It was a big cut, well seasoned and very juicy. It also came with great french fries. We were so excited about the food we only took a photo of the appetizers! Overall, despite relatively medium reviewes, this place left us impressed beyond expectations and we wished we could go back again before the end of our stay.

We researched this restaurant on Google and decided to give it a go. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a lovely lady. We were sat next to the fridge with fresh fish and we were explained what is available and how it can be cooked. We chose local speciality rock Lapas which are apparently aquatic snails. They were served with garlic oil. We followed for the main course a selection off roasted fish and seafood in tomato souce. We were told the dish is like paella with rice but it arrived without and only then we were informed it is without rice. We didn't mind overall but I noted other reviews have similar comments so maybe this is something to watch out for. Overall atmosphere was ok we were there late afternoon and the only table in the restaurant. The lady that served us was very attentive.

Avoid this place for your health & security. I arrived for dinner on my own at about 7pm. My 1st choice was not available supposedly sold out. This in hindsight was unlikely as there were few customers there! Black pasta with mixed fish including squid. I accepted their alternative suggestion of Paella with mixed fish, while it was tasty, it was a very mean serving! 3 tiny tiny clams, 3 very small mussels probably smallest I'd ever seen. And 5 prawns, 1 large 4 small. To add insult to injury as I finished I found a hair on the plate. As I'm bald it was not mine. I pointed it out to staff, 1st one ignored me, 2nd finally after 20 minutes brought out a more senior. They offered me desert, I had a coffee. The bill came to €22.30. They had given me the coffee free! Seriously disappointed but the story got worse! I paid €20 and left. I was followed and accosted by another staff member a Belgian who accused me of not paying in the middle of Playa Charco. We had a shouted argument, I was concerned that I was about to be attacked! When I kept shouting that they had a hygiene problem in their kitchen, his aggression diminished! I don't believe that I have had a worse experience in a restaurant in very many years! Avoid this place for your...

We definitely returned more than once here.

Lovely service and fantastic food. The team was very good in attending to our needs and always with a smile. It is one of the places, where you are left to finish your starter and then you are served to enjoy your main meal. To add to the great hospitality, the personnel spoke a variety of languages, which made it extremely easy to connect with and left a good impression.

The atmosphere overall is good. You have a small restaurant with a few tables in a tiny street. Yes, people do pass by and can see your food. But if you are bothered by that there are options to be placed on the inner side. Compared to the main square and other streets in the city, I definitely felt very comfortable there and was able to have a normal conversation with my partner, without being bothered by loud music or noise.

Food wise- fantastic quality and definitely some of the meals were served in an attractive manner, which makes the whole experience even more special. Especially recommend the place for people who...

This was one of my favourite restaurants before COVID due to the great, attentive and fun staff and the good food. We always loved going there.

Went there again this year and it was an underwhelming experience. Staff during our visit was not attentive or even friendly and even though we were early for dinner and there were not many guests yet, getting the menu and being able to order was tedious and took a long time. It got worse after ordering. Drinks took forever. We ordered several tapas that came one after another with 5 to 15 minutes in between, and one was forgotten so we had to ask for it. So instead of being able to eat together we had to eat one after another, always depending on whoever's tapas just had arrived. This really doesn't make for a nice eating experience.

The only good thing was the food, which was still delicious and up to the standard we knew.

Probably won't be back after this experience. A shame, it used...
