Sala Timanfaya — Attraction in Puerto de la Cruz

What a GREAT, little theater!!! Seats no more than about 250 in an intimate little venue. I was drawn in for the "Amy Winehouse: The Musical" show just last week. For 15 Euro, the show performed about 15 Winehouse songs (the lead singer, Amy, and a three man backing band). There was a fifth actor who played the boyfriend/grim reaper. Good sound quality and the background screen aired vintage footage of Amy from real life. The sad news is the theater was only about 20% full. At the end of the show, and after taking their bows, the cast inquired as to the nationalities of those in the audience. All the hands I saw raised indicated they are Spanish. I think this show needs & deserves more promotion. My thought is the cast should perform a few live sets outdoors two blocks to the north, where a few thousand tourists walk by every day on the main pedestrian thoroughfare for Puerto de la Cruz. Me lastima poner solo 3 estrellas.. Iba a poner una pero entiendo que hay mas gente trabajando y por culpa de algunos no se la merecen todos, entonces rectifico; Porque, también, el tributo a The Beatles has sido fantástico! Apoyo la iniciativa cultural y vuestro trabajo, pero, lamentablemente, la falta de paciencia y profesionalidad por parte del personal en la ENTRADA y VENTANILLA nos estropeó la experiencia a nosotros y también el empeño al respecto de todos los que trabajan para que sea posible disfrutar de los espectáculos que Proponen. Les comento; Debido a la lluvia, nos arrimamos a un lado de la puerta un momento para cerrar los para aguas, buscar las entradas en el correo y, mientras por educación, no atascar el acceso a la vez! Pues; No tuvimos ni el tiempo de eso.. (si no habíamos entrado aún habrá algun un motivo! Y por el agua no podíamos sacar el teléfono con mas antelación y menos en la calle con el riesgo de mojarlo). Bueno.. Lamentablemente, el personal, con impaciencia, salió a meter prisa sin necesidad alguna.. Pero si pagamos con antelación porque tanta prisa? Si no entramos a tiempo es problema nuestro! Relax! (debido a que también faltaban mas de 30 minutos a empezar)... Nos pareció un trato injustificado, como también en ventanilla.. Y efectivamente, luego dentro; Solo le estábamos preguntando cual de los dos códigos QR que aparecen en cada ticket necesitaban para validarlo.. Con falta de respeto no recibo ninguna respuesta nada.. Me trató como si fuese un muñeco de nieve prácticamente.. Pinchó uno cualquiera sin hacerme ni caso.. Y me dices; dame el otro dame el otro!! Pero vamos a ver.. Si tengo dos entradas para enseñarte y no contesta a mi pregunta.. Como quieres que te intérprete? Entonces (como no sabías si le sirvió el código que había pinchado sin escucharme) Les repito; te hace falta el otro codigo que aparece en el mismo ticket o la otra entrada? Y por fin contestó que le daba lo mismo y que los codigos son iguales (Pero lo siento! nosotros no trabajamos contigo vale.. Y perdona si te hemos preguntado!) Así que pudimos comunicarnos por fin y entrar. Tanta gente trabajando y tan poca paciencia y comprensión para el público. Esto de llamar a la gente desde la puerta también se ves un poco feo.. Después de haber pagado seguro que vamos a entrar.. Sólo quisiéramos el tiempo suficiente para buscar la entrada en el móvil! Calma por favor! También deberían de agilizar los tickets y poner un código solo por ejemplo. No nos hubieses gustado mucho ir a siguientes espectáculos pero del mal trato y disgusto no pensamos volver. Espero ustedes puedan tener mejor experiencia.. Yo no he tenido un buen cumpleaño.. Quizás por esto le he dado importancia a esta reseña.. Espero les sirvan mis...

The performance was completely not worth my time. I feel sorry that I asked my friends to share this experience with me. Waste of time.

The show did not have much in common with flamenco. During the first part of it music was not live and four dancers were performing on the stage and the background was a mediocre presentation displayed on the screen. The second part at was slightly better as there was one guitarist that played live (unfortunately accompanied by not live music) and a singer that sang live.

Flamenco is a beautiful combination of live guitar, emotional dancing and singing. I saw flamenco before and basically I could not take my eyes of the dancers. This time I was over the moon when the performance finally finished. Bad costumes, mediocre dancing and singing, no emotions. I do not...
