Restaurante Divino — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

Cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. To begin with , Gabriel who served us was funny, friendly and attentive. He cheekily suggested we had found what we were looking for when we walked past the first time, and he was absolutely right, so much so we came back a second time!

Our first time was for lunch which was relaxed and tasty with good sized portions and a calm atmosphere.

We decided to come back for our final night and were again served by Gabriel and enjoyed a superb evening meal set in the beautiful Plaza del Charco. I particularly enjoy seafood and ordered their superb seafood platter - fresh, tasty and beautifully presented.

Truly, this is a place when I would give 6 stars (if I could). Divine food! Galician octopus was the best thing I had ever tried on Canary Islands. Well, those little shrimps toast were right behind. Pardoned were bit more expensive than everywhere however the portion was twice as big! I was told before about canarian chicken. When I saw it on “chef’s recommendations” I took it without hesitation. Yum yum yum. The sauce was finger licking too. On the neighbors’ table I saw a fish I wanted to order (before I saw chicken). We were looking for a good place for wine when the waiter pulled us in here. We specified we wanted good wine. We did not say anything about price etc.. The wine we were served (white and red) wasn't great but we didn't complain. Later the waiter asked us how the wine was and we told him it was a little disappointing. His reply was if we spent more money the wine would be better?!? This was before knowing anything about price at all. Very presumptuous and quite offensive a comment.
