When visiting Ronda, know that it is very crowded in the afternoons when the tour buses from nearby cities drop off tourists. We walked across the bridge looking for a lunch spot with a view. We walked into Albacara and asked for a table for two. The kind (but very busy) server offered us a table with a beautiful view of the bridge and gorge. He warned us that the kitchen was a little backed up because they were very busy. We didn't mind, we ordered a bottle of local rosé and enjoyed the view. Our (extremely) polite server suggested the duck and the octopus. The duck was incredible, I literally picked the bones for every last bit of meat and I ate all of the tasty sautéed veggies that accompanied the dish. The octopus wasn't as good as the duck, but it was fresh and well prepared. I was very impressed at how composed our server was. The restaurant was very busy and you could tell that he was pretty stressed out. But you would never know it from the way he treated us, he was very polite and patient when we had questions about the menu. If you're going to Ronda, you should definitely drop by here for lunch or dinner. The only bad part of our experience were the bees. Toward the end of our meal, we were visited by a couple of bees who wanted to munch on our leftovers. They didn't bother me much, but another table got up and left because of the insect invaders (perhaps one of them was allergic?).

This was going to be a 4, maybe 5 star review but that fell apart when the bill came. There was a €5.80 item that I didn't know what it was, so I asked - bread and olives. We were served (not requested, or asked if we wanted it) a small dish of olives, maybe 10 or 12 and half a piece of bread each. I'm pretty sure that's not legal, and it certainly ruined an otherwise lovely dinner. I just don't like being taken advantage of, especially, for a €100+ dinner for two. The burrata salad and beef carpaccio starters were both excellent. I had the lamb, as recommended by the waiter and my wife had the cod. Both very good, although I found the lamb a bit dried out - still very good, but not excellent. A local wine recommended by the waiter was also excellent. Rather than argue about the bread, I did not tip, which bothers me as I'm sure it hurts the staff more than whoever sets the policy to force €5.80 out of each couple (maybe only the tourists?). As many others have stated, a seat by the railing on a nice evening provides an amazing view. I hope management reads some of the recent reviews and addresses some of the issues.

We had a very good experience for dinner at Albacara. The service was excellent, from the moment we made reservations, and throughout our dinner experience. The restaurant is in a great location! The atmosphere and decor was very nice. As for the food, I would give it 4.5 stars. In terms of taste, everything was spot on. We ordered the croquetas for appetizer, and it was a solid, sizable dish. Very tasty, seasoned croquetas with a couple of different sauces on the side (not all places serve them with this). The tomato sauce was a bit sweet, but the spices with it kept me coming back for more. The aioli paired perfectly with the combination. For main dishes we had the corvina, and the cow steak. Both were very tasty. The corvina was perfectly cooked. The steak was very slightly overdone (hence not a perfect score) but the taste was so good I was able to overlook this and finish the plate. For dessert we had the soufflé, and it was excellent. I highly recommend it. Overall, I recommend Albacara. Good food, and great service.

Some of the worst service I have ever recieved in all of my years dining. I'm not sure how anyone can classify this as fine dining. We are saying in the hotel and the receptionist recommended that we make reservations at the restaurant which we did for our anniversary. We arrived on time and stood without being acknowledged for at least 10 minutes. We were then taken to our table where we again sat for 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged Which consisted of the maître d' walking up to us and stating "what do you want?" with his pad of paper out. No, "how are you doing?" no "let me tell you at about therestaurant" no "I'm so glad you're here" , Not even one explanation about any of the dishes. We ordered 2 cold appetizer, 1 hot appetizer and 2 mains as well as drinks. All 3 appetizers came out at once Which meant either something had to sit and get cold or something had to sit and get soggy. By this time our drinks were empty but we were never again asked if we wanted anything else to drink. Wait staff walked in-and-out but it was as if we were purposely being ignored Along with a few other couples that were being treated exactly the same way. There are only 9 tables in total that were seated during our dining experience. Eventually our main courses came out which Had both obviously been sitting for a while before being brought out and we're lukewarm. Still no one asked if we wanted additional wine or any other drinks. After finishing our main course our dirty dishes set on our table for another 30 minutes at which point we flag done the manager and ask for a check. At this point of frustration level was very high so we Walk directly to the front desk to speak with the receptionist. We voiced our concerns over the quality of the meal and of the service that we received. She informed us that there was no manager of the hotel or of the restaurant that we would be able to talk to And that he wouldn't be available to speak to anyone for at least another 4 days. She did eventually call the maître d' on the phone but wouldn't let us talk to him and told us that he said it would be best for us to just pay our bill and then call him when he came into the office and then he would decide if he wanted to do anything to compensate us for our poor service. The receptionist did tell us that the restaurant had been receiving massive amounts of complaints for the poor service. I would never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms...

Maybe my expectations were set a little too high for this restaurant, but my family’s experience was pretty poor overall. Right off the bat, the waiters were quite rude to us; I tried to ask one of them some questions about their drink menu and he looked at me like I had insulted him in some way. After that, it took them at least thirty minutes to serve our food after we put our orders in. By then we had finished our drinks and because it was quite warm we wanted to order some more, but flagging down a waiter was unusually difficult, and they took ages to get us our drinks the second time; they served one of our drinks after we paid our bill!! for a restaurant of that size (10ish tables) with around 5 waiters, the service was unbelievably slow. I’ve heard the view was nice, which is what attracted us to this restaurant in the first place, but I can’t even say anything about it myself because unless you were sat right up against the railing, other guests would end up blocking your view. Apart from that, the food was subpar and way over priced for its quality. The lamb was dry, and the steak was far too ‘rare,’ and the grilled salmon barely had any flavor at all. The short comings of this restaurant are so unfortunate because this establishment could be so much better than what we experienced, but you could honestly find better, cheaper food, and better...
