You need to walk up a few steps to get to the bar area but well worth the while. They serve pinxos with the drinks and you choose them from a glass swhowcase on the counter. You can also ask the waiter for recommendations if you're not sure what to try. You can have just a drink or just a pinxo. We had one pinxo with brie, chicken, bacon and a mustard sauce which was heavenly. Also tried Spanish tortilla with Roquefort sauce, another with octopus and potato, a local special called "paloma" (a giant crisp type bowl filled with veg and mayonnaise) and another special which was black pudding with bacon and green pepper. All of the above are served on a large slice of bread. Service and attention on behalf of staff was great, very friendly, they even offered to help us carry our 11-month-old down in his pram although they were quite busy. It doesn't have outside seating but being on the 1st floor you have windows overlooking Plaza Mayor. Will go again if we get the chance!
