We reserved a table via the restaurant's own app a few hours beforehand. We had our reservation confirmed, made an hour long journey into town, arrived 15 minutes early, where it became clear that the restaurant did not have a table for us or any record of our reservation.
I showed them my confirmed reservation from the app, and they said something about people booking 2 weeks ago etc. Which is understandable, except why had I had my reservation confirmed if there was no table to offer?
They offered us a table outside, which we tried but felt too cold. They tried to persuade us that it wasn't very cold, but notably did not offer to instead seat other later customers with reservations that mattered outdoors and us indoors.
Eventually, we left, disappointed. In my opinion, whizzy apps are great, but it's still far more important to get the basics right and not lose customer's bookings. I hope the management note this point and improves their processes so that other customers are not left...

The greeting on entry horrible told to follow and then the menus slammed on the table and the guy left. The poppadoms were stale. The Balti was sooo sweet I've never tasted one like it. Not once did anyone come to check on us or even ask if the food was ok when they cleared. They also didn't offer us a clean plate and cutlery after the starter. The lack of customer service and the balti ruined it for me to be honest so I won't be back. The irony here is that the slogan is "Experience wow!" but for me it couldn't be further...
