I felt very comfortable here. The restaurant is staffed by two people: a chef and the owner, who also acts as the waiter. The service is warm and friendly. They shared details about all the dishes, informed me about where they source their ingredients, and even recommended the best places to buy certain products on the island. What I appreciated most is that they treated me as an equal; they didn’t make me feel less important simply because they were the owners. Overall, it was a very comforting experience.
There is a small restaurant located in the old part of La Laguna. It features a couple of tables both outside and inside. The interior is decorated in a traditional Spanish style, complete with wooden chairs and tables.
The restaurant offers a concise menu, with all ingredients sourced locally from the island. Everything is organic and of high quality. My favorite dish is the lasagna, which is incredibly delicious. For dessert, I highly recommend the tiramisu and the brownie with vanilla ice cream.
Unlike many other restaurants, where you might detect an odd spice or flavor, here you can truly appreciate each ingredient. The dishes are prepared as if they were made at home, with clarity in taste and beautiful...
Read moreA hidden gem in beautiful San Cristobal. It was recommended by a friend and we immediately understood why. We instantly felt like family thanks to Angelo and Monica, who welcomed us in their little restaurant and served us the most delicious dishes made from fresh local ingredients and a lot of passion for what they do. The taste, the freshness and the quality of the food is what one should look for when coming here, as it’s not the typical conventional place for tourists with a long menu. Instead, it is a place where to find a unique sensorial experience where every ingredient is carefully selected from local farmers and put together in delicious and sustainable dishes, that’s why the menu is quite short but curated in every detail. Quality and love for the concept they put together is what makes this place stand out. Highly recommended, thank you very much for making us feel like we were at granma’s table with fresh produce coming directly from...
Read moreOne of the best places to try ecological Spanish tapas in Tenerife. Visiting La Laguna on a day trip, we found this small tapas joint - which is located near the main market square. It certainly lived up to the fantastic reviews, with the food here exceeding all of our expectations. All of their dishes were well thought through, with many of the ingredients local and organic. The owner (our waiter), was patient and polite - putting up with our broken Spanish - walking us through each dish on the menu (which isn't in English). The value for money is excellent and the central location makes Tasca 61 an ideal place for a relaxed tapas lunch. I would recommend making a reservation by phone as the restaurant is small. We would gleefully return when we next go...
