Xauen Café — Restaurant in San Sebastián

From the eclectic silverware and dishes to the friendly staff, Xauen over-delivered on aesthetics and charm. At times it felt like we were sitting in a hotel lobby, then it felt like an art gallery (with good reason - we soon learned that the showroom for the interior designer that worked on the café - Veluto - was just down the street, so we got to tour the showroom afterward as well - I highly recommend!). The coffee was great and the food delicious. If you like eclectic details then prepare to fawn over the silverware and plates - each with its own little details and backstory. We had some laughs with the staff who were so warm and welcoming. I will definitely be returning on my future visits...

Xauen café is what I predicted it would be. A PIECE OF ART!!!! It showcased a unique, very detailed aesthetic that made my eyes get lost in its beauty. Every inch of this space felt it was curated to perfection giving each square foot its own story. The design was brought to life by a local designer electrifying one’s taste for design. Moving onto the food, not exaggerating when i say, heaven is where i was on every bite. It was impeccable & great add ons if you want a little more protein or just healthy fats. I got to try a variety of things on the menu and I certainly give it 10/10 Can’t wait to go back & speaking globally it’s for sure in my top...

Contendiente a mejor café de Donostia. Coqueto por dentro, aunque un poco pequeño. Ambiente muy tranquilo. Terraza pequeña pero suele haber sitio.

Cappuccino con leche de avena: 3.2€ (nada caro para el tamaño y calidad, servicio en terraza, y comparándolo con otros sitios con un similar "business mindset").

Lo único a destacar de lo que no soy muy fan es que no quede muy claro si hay que pedir en barra, sentarse, esperar sitio... Y al final eso te hace perder más tiempo del que se esperan ahorrar.

EDIT: después de haber venido varias veces, la sensación que tuve el primer día la mantengo: muy buen café, buena preparación, trabajadores amables en general, pero en la atención es donde fallan.

En atender y servir no suelen tardar tanto, a no ser que cojas un desayuno. No obstante, para pagar ya he tenido que entrar dentro un par de veces, porque llevaban 10 minutos sin cobrarnos cuando no estaban ni llevando platos, ni tomando comandas. Entiendo que tengan clientes, pero son como 2-3 en barra y otros 2-3 en terraza/sala, y es que hay como 7 mesas fuera y 6 o así dentro.

Eso sí, si vas a pedir café para llevar, me parece el mejor sitio, no tardan nada.

Sería conveniente que cobraran por anticipado (o dar esa opción al menos), y así cuando acabas, te vas y...
