Service was the worst I've ever experienced.
Ordering is chaotic, there are no clear instructions how to do it (it's a pen and paper ordering form you have to fill in, the pens are not working though and there is only two of them)
I came with a few friends and I've asked if we can pay seperately - and that's where the worst part began. The waiter was shouting at me "no por separado!", walking off and shouting this at me both from the other side of the restaurant and straight to my face.
In order to calculate with my friends, I have asked for the receipt. The other waiter didn't listen to me, tried to charge me €230 for a different table.
The first waiter was still shouting at me during this.
Eventually, I have managed to get the bill for our table and bring it to my friends. We have quickly realised that we have been overcharged €20 and there are extra sides on the receipt which we have never ordered. You can imagine what explaining this to the "staff" was like. It took us 45 minutes to pay the bill while being shouted at and we've overpaid €5 anyway.

Read moreThis was a delightful experience. The tapas were delicious. They have a system (great for strangers without much local language) where all of their tapas are displayed (under protective glass) with a number. When you take a seat the server will come to take your drinks order and ask if you wish to eat. If you do, he will give you a pen and a sheet of paper with all the numbers on. You then browse along the extensive bar of choices and put how many you'd like if each numbered tapas.. If your not sure exactly what one of the dishes is, you ask the guy behind the bar who explains.. Once you've made your choices, you hand your sheet to the server, return to your table, enjoy your drinks and your choices of tapas are served to you at your table. You can ask for another sheet if you'd like to make further choices. Make sure that each sheet with your table number and choices on is included when you pay your bill. Excellent. The tapas were fresh, and delicious. The wine was excellent. Service courteous and efficient....
Read moreBaztan is not just a pinxto place! They serve delicious entrées too. I had Rape con Hongos, a phenominal fish dish to share with my friend costing 23 euro. The fish and mushrooms were creamy, salty, and perfectly cooked. I also had calamari with a delicious salty fried exterior with soft, chewy octopus inside. After only eating pintxos for a couple days, it was a switch up to sit inside, but with a great outcome! The aesthetic design of the dish was pleasing to the eye because of bread pieces and herbs decorating the top.
Although they were busy, I sat with my group of 11 at the back of the restaurant. The design of the building evokes rustica from the stone walls and wooden tables. I enjoyed the layout as well, with the pintxos bar blocking our view to the street, making us feel more relaxed and secure. Good staff, we had a Spanish speaker with our group though, who did communication.
The dish stands out as the best part of the experience, good place, great...
