Ñam Taberna Jatetxea - Haizearen Orrazia — Restaurant in San Sebastián

This is a generous 4, and that’s for the tasty (but not exceptional) food, the view and the value for money.

In San Sebastián we experienced fantastic and friendly service but sadly not here! The worst of our stay. Serving staff didn’t greet, make eye contact, definitely no smiling, and were abrupt. It wasn’t that busy so no excuse there. I ordered at the bar, including a black coffee; after a while a black coffee appears on the counter, and no one else is standing at the bar so I reach for it ‘to be shouted at ‘THAT IS NOT YOURS’ !! You know, there are more charming ways to engage with your customers 😂.

I went back later for more coffee but got fed up of being ignored in favour of native spanish speakers (though I was happy to order in Spanish) so...

I'm an honest reviewer, and therefore 5 stars as the price, the food, and most of the staff is amazing. Only one person (again the waiter with the glasses) needs to understand and learn that his opinion is not important when not asked. Paying customers should be served with a smile. Unless they are rude or annoying. Us being slow as the menu was amazing and therefore a bit hard to pick from. Should not be a reason for commentaries, when you walk into a person you say sorry specially as a waiter. Throwing a chair under our table without a word because you're annoyed that a big groups asked for more tables is unnecessary.

Went there today after a bike ride and we enjoyed the patio. Food wasn’t bad for the price, the only problem was our server. A guys with glasses. After one one of Spain that was the first rude waiter I found. Despite taking forever to take our orders after ordering the check he complained we want to pay with credit card and he needed to go and pick up the machine. He even asked if we didn’t have money so it would save him the trip, he said that with a disgusting tone. PS: our table was the closest one to the restaurant. What a clown. We’ll never...
