Restaurante La Cayena — Restaurant in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

They're a family based restaurant. The place itself it's tiny but cosy. We decided to visit this place after seeing all the positive reviews. The food was ok but not impressed with the taste. Apart from the pudding which was nice the other 2 courses were edible but not delicious. I can't really complain cause it's only 9 euro menu so it's very cheap. They don't have a variety of foods just that daily menu which they write on the board and varies on a daily basis; so if you're a fusy eater there is no much option in terms of food. The staff were very kind and helpful, very friendly. Although they're only speak spanish they've tried to translate us the menu in english which was very nice of them. A proper locals restaurant with people queuing outside for a table.

The €9 menu de dia of three courses including bread and a drink of beer, water or soft drink was excellent plentiful home cooked food. A nice pork stew for me and squid in ink for my wife.

The €9 daily menu includes bread and three courses: a starter, a main course, and your choice of either coffee or dessert. The staff is fantastic, and the locals who dine here are a cheerful bunch. It’s lovely to see such a lively, close-knit community spot.

The lemon tart I got for dessert was one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. Fantastic experience.

Ps. Parking is close to impossible. Use the big parking house nearby, don’t even try to find a free spot on the street...
