The place is amazing, literally a modernized cave. The service was kind and attentive. We started with complimentary hors d'oeuvres. My girlfriend does not eat fish, and the dish was breaded shrimp; in my opinion, they should ask about food allergies or intolerances prior to serving. For starters, we ordered the Galician soup (amazing), lentil salad (also amazing), and a half portion of ham and cheese croquettes (which were very good but not outstanding).
For the main course, I had the Iberian ham cut (which was pork), and my girlfriend had the veal. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. Some points of criticism for the main course: mine did not come with a side, just pork, jam, and an onion; and my girlfriend's order was incorrect, as there are two veal dishes and the waiter inadvertently misunderstood her. Finally, the restaurant charges €2.30 per person for bread and olive oil, which we did not take. They had a delicious and reasonably priced house red wine (approximately €23), which I highly recommended.
Overall, worth the visit when in Santiago and celebrating a special...
Read moreWe had the pilgrims menu and it was very good for only 18 euros. We were able to make a reservation in the morning for the evening but they were turning people away at the door so make a reservation. That does not include wine but two euros off if you are a pilgrim. It was very reasonably priced for great service. A handmade Santiago torte was the dessert. They had lentils for a starter and today was veal for a main course. The lentils were some of the best on the Camino and the Santiago torte was special. I am a pescatarian so there were no options for this. I ordered a la carte. The razor clams a la plancha were great. I had the seafood stew which was huge. Recommended! Good value. Drinks are more expensive but it is a five star hotel so that is to...
Read moreI’m usually very patient but I had a terrible experience. My reservation was done at 9pm and by 9:30pm they hadn’t taken our drinks yet. I thought Hotels Paradero had a good service. The menu didn’t look great either. We were literally forgotten. We stepped out and kindly left the place. Waiters nor hostess didn’t even care about asking us why. I don’t recommend the place. No wonder why isn’t busy at all times. There are many other good options around at walking distance. We ended up going to another one...
