I arrived there because a local told me their octopus is delicious. I asked for a table for one and the manager was so unfriendly from the beginning pretending he didn’t care. The food was very tasty. Unfortunately the waiter hasn’t told me that the portions were very big and I ended up having to almost eat a quantity that wasn’t possible for just one person. Which I couldn’t. When the food arrived I did complained about not being informed before and the manager just gave me a face like he didn’t even want to listen and he almost didn’t want me there. After being treated like an idiot despite other people have noticed that I been tricked, they asked me if they can give me a dessert to apologise! Like they didn’t even understand that the food was too much and they should have warned me before! even though I speak Spanish fluently. It’s not the waiter fault the most hurting thing is being treated bad like I’m just a tourist leaving my money and no customer service at all! They even added 2 portion of bread I never requested and when confronted the manager he pretended he didn’t know anything. Beware this is not the right place for tourist that love food. Despite the delicious plate and nice atmosphere I won’t be...

Place is really well located and the food is ok but overrated, which is a pity. In the end ate 2 zamburinhas (not 2 portions, 2 shells(, a bit of chewy octopus, a spoon of salad and 2 glasses of wine and paid about 30.

A couple of things happened: Some beers/drinks come with pinchos, some don’t We had to ask for wine 3x for it to come They said they had a portion of fish for people when they showed a fish that was too big, 40mins later it never came, and then it didn’t exist anymore to order They said the “mariscada” wasn’t available because the crab wasn’t available, only to serve about 4 others in other tables First they said no reservations, but then when we arrived they had no place and the first floor had all been reserved. They let 3 tables through with no reservation outside, and finally after insisting let us join some tables, delaying 45mins to sit.

There are so many places in Santiago and it is a pity the whole experience...

Horrible experience! We wanted to have dinner and entered the bar early in the evening asking for a dinner table. The waiter told us that they would have a table in 20 minutes, so we sat down and waited. After half an hour we were told to go up to the restaurant for dinner. Up there an old and aggressive waiter approached us, screaming at us why we would come up without reservation. I want to point out that this old man was really aggressive screaming, shouting and chaotically running around while we stood there totally misplaced, trying to explain that we waited and we were told to go up! I have full understanding that working in gastronomy can be stressful but being aggressive towards your guests is not acceptable. We left this place directly and for sure will...

Our experience with this restaurant was marred by the steward trying to convince us to order expensive fish (>€200/kg) for our group and we had to firmly decline. Mostly we were very happy with what we ordered - the starters of pulpo a feira, croquettes & cheese and especially the main course of paella and black rice with scallops and cuttlefish fish. One dish of monkfish was terrible with mostly bones and we complained and got the cost of the dish deducted from the bill. One of the young servers who spoke good English was very helpful and ironed out the irritations. Otherwise it would have been overall a positive experience.

This place is seriously good. My first visit to Santiago de Compostela. Went with a group (tourism group organized) and the guide coordinated lunch service at Restaurante San Jaime. It was a beautiful gastronomic experience. Seafood galore. Every single presentation was very good and fresh. Pricing is what you would expect on a high quality restaurant with a very good location next to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. I found everything was reasonable. Definitely would want to eat there again.

Excelente restaurante.
