How could I start my review, so much to talk about it. Let's start with the location, Mamma Lucia is a beautiful gem in Tenerife Los Gigantes, the balcony of the restaurant has a breath-taking view of the beautiful and blue Atlantic Ocean, as we were dining we watched the Golden ball sinking in to the ocean through the horizon and this unique and mesmerising moment will be remembered forever and to top it up, Elton John's song Don't Let the Sun go down on me was playing, it was just a magical moment that it only could be achieved from the gorgeous view Mamma Lucia has to offer.
The food is absolutely stunning, hand and home made to achieve the most beautiful presentation when the plates arrived in our table, the produce and ingredients are fresh and truly genuine from all around Italy and the world, providing the best flavours one could taste, plates are extremely well presented, the colours, the flavours, the smell of it, its like heaven, absolutely gorgeous in every single aspect.
The pasta is none than the best in the island, I've been to other restaurants in the area which was good but nothing compared to Mamma Lucia, the pizza oh lala, Mamma mia as they say, it's the most flavoursome and best pizza I've ever had, I had tried pizza in Italy (Milan, Rome, Siena, Civitavecchia, Buonconvento and Florence) they were beautiful however, I could not compare to the ones I had in this little piece of heaven on earth, the pizza is to die for. The beverage is served in the perfect temperature, the white wine is chilled, the beer is very cold with the beer glass coming straight from the fridge with the ice frost all around it.
Adolfo the owner is a great guy, charming and extremely helpful and polite, Waleria his partner has the best smile that would brighten any room she is adorable, extremely funny and pleasant , the entire team from Mamma Lucia are very friendly and super-efficient, always willing to accommodate our needs and desires when we went either for lunch or dinner.
I can truly say that, Mamma Lucia has our hearts as the service, the food, the location, the ambiance, the friendly members of the staff was superb. To me, in my opinion, Mama Lucia is THE most gorgeous and beautiful restaurant in the area and THE BEST of them all. Highly recommended, 5-star service. Thank you Adolfo, Waleria and all the staff from the Mamma Lucia restaurant for providing such a special moment in my life and my wife's life. We will treasure this moment for a life time and we couldn't have spent our wedding anniversary in a...
Read moreI can't recommend this little restaurant enough. The staff were so lovely and patient with us; some of the people with us hardly speak English so there was some miscommunication which was swiftly resolved. The pizzas were delicious, but the real star of the show was my tuna steak which I think was almost on a Michelin star level. I was asked how I would like it cooked which is rare by itself (normally tuna I order comes overcooked) but clearly the chef knows how to cook this dish to perfection. The steak was so juicy and presented fabulously with some sort of vegetable crisps and a side dish of grilled vegetables. Honestly the picture does not do it justice! I dreamt of coming back to the restaurant for the whole duration of our trip but sadly didn't get the chance to. I'll make sure to visit again if I ever return...
Read moreAs it seems from the reviews, it really depends on what you take from the menu what will your experience be. Shrimp risotto was delicious, but very small portion, which means you should take a starter and/or second dish. Risotto with pear, gorgonzola and walnuts was very plain. Tiramisu honestly was the worst we have ever eaten in our lives and I was more than surprised to experience something like this in an Italian restaurant. It felt like it was soaked in the water (not even rum) and soaked so much that the water was running from it.. Honestly, one poorly prepared dish can ruin all experience. Should we really order 4 dishes to have a good experience (but after the one we had we never want to return to this place anyways) or should a place prepare each this in a way people would like to taste and enjoy more of...
