Female waiting staff were lovely. Male not so much, was a little rude in approach when we asked for a table and denied us sitting in an area with around 9 tables free, (2 taken). First rookie mistake, don't let your customers sit where they want.
Food - well, quality was unfortunately non existent. We ordered the salmon and the steak pie. Prices were not cheap but ratings seemed good, you get what you pay for, right?
Wrong. Pastry was flavourless on the pie and it was the thinnest layer of shortcrust I've ever experienced on a pie. I mean, I've seen skin that thicker in a 80 year old. Pie filling was good right? No, it was a steak n ale soup inside. Beef was good but it was a bloody soup. I mean I didn't even require the gravy supplied which at least had a consistency.
Salmon tasted a bit old. Mash potato was made with zero love, tasted old, prepped and reheated.
In all honesty this restaurant is trying to be mid class whilst serving beefeater quality food at best. Find a spanish restaurant to eat at and forget this place unless you're taste buds have been locked up in a prison for the past 20 years and you have no memory of what good fresh ingredients taste like.

Thanks for replying, I took your point about the salmon etc and removed three words from the review. Hopefully this will please you.
If the intent was "to harm" as you put it, I would have awarded 1 star, not 2. Also there was a couple of points made of praise in the review, perhaps you missed that part.
Nevertheless, the review was fully detailed and honest. I do admire how you addressed just one point out of say 10+ points on the review itself and based on that one point (which I removed) you deemed the review not honest with intent to harm. Logic and addressing of the rest of the review seems to be beyond you're scope or vision sadly.
Take the blinkers off mate and sort it perhaps, instead of lumping blame on a paying customer and dismissing the entire review. I shan't be replying further. Good luck with your...
Read moreLoved this place, with only a small issue with the table service for drinks after dinner. The waiting service seemed good, I ordered my cava along with husbands drinks but 2 or 3 times it wasnt brought to the table with his drink, either the bar or the waiter in question always sent my husbands drink separately very quickly and then i had to wait ages for my drink, Cava, which didn't arrive, twice this happened. We were charged for 6 bottles but had only consumed 4. I think the waiter thought we would be drunk and not notice but afraid it would take more bottles than that!!!! . We questioned the bill but they would only take one bottle off. We didn't make a further complaint. Juat wanted to leave.
Typically, it was the same waiter who brought the bill, and didn't seem pleased we questioned the bill. Shame really because the rest of the staff were excellent, just this one joker letting them down.
The food was mostly good for us all (especially since they are very good with gluten awareness for my gluten intollerance) with the exception of what was supposed to be a creamy tarragon sauce with my chicken which was a strange green sauce with little or no cream unlike any other of this kind i have had. The rest of our meals were good.
The live entertainment was a solo female singer who was a great...
Read moreTerrible attitude from English middle-aged woman working here. Ruined our evening. Decided on having a quick drink as we were passing. We didn’t order food because it was very late in the night. The gentleman who greeted us (the owner?) was fine with us just trying the local ale while enjoying the final song from the singer. When we finished, we approached the bar to pay and asked to pay on separate cards as we had run out of euros. The woman rudely refused, telling us that we’re “not allowed” and that we “must pay in euros only”. After explaining we had no cash, she still wouldn’t let us pay by card. It was at this point I tried getting the attention of other staff, at which point she said she would compromise and let us pay on one card, “as a favour” but without splitting the payment. I refused and she muttered something, huffed and moaned that it’s a 3% charge every time they use the card machine. As we were paying I kindly said how I liked the venue and how we had considered returning for dinner the following evening, but she looked at me and just said “we’re closed Tuesdays”. That’s not even true, just close early (4pm). Terrible reception - she gives the place a bad name and for that reason I would never return. Prepare to have your...
