In the picturesque labyrinth of Seville, the Artilleria beckoned with its elegant façade and pastel interiors, promising an experience as refined as its setting. This promise, however, unravelled spectacularly, leaving us in a state of culinary despair.
Our adventure started in hopeful anticipation, with a plan to delight in tapas accompanied by fine wine, followed by a main dish and dessert. The reality struck when we were told tapas were confined to the bar, a baffling policy that fragmented our experience.
Perusing the digital menu, we sought refuge in patatas bravas and white wine, with aspirations for a seafood paella that were promptly dashed—none was available. In a diminished spirit, we settled for a pizza with red wine and preemptively ordered dessert—torrijas, a treat I had yet to relish.
The patatas bravas were the first to disappoint, their flavor profile a discordant symphony of inadequate potatoes and an overly piquant sauce. The pizza that followed did little to lift our spirits, its decent crust overshadowed by the unremarkable meat topping.
The real plight began post-pizza, as we sat amidst the remnants of our meal, wine glasses barren and no dessert in sight. A diligent wave finally summoned a waitress who, upon our query about the dessert, informed us that the chef had unexpectedly departed.
The climax of our dismay was not just the absence of the dessert we longed for, but the fact that this news was relayed to us only after we inquired—after a lengthy, desolate wait. Even the act of paying was marred by an incorrect bill, a final sting from the Artilleria.
In recounting our experience at the Artilleria, each step serves as a marker of disappointment—a journey through a dining experience that fell precipitously short of its visual promise. It pains me to say that the Artilleria, with its impeccable design, fails to meet even the most basic of...
Read morehorrible service and food. we waited 15 mins for a menu (which shouldve been our first sign), another 10 to order, then another almost 45 min before they came up to us and asked us if we ordered already and saying our order was not in the system. we were about to simply walk out in frustration but they assured us food was on the way so we stayed because we were starving at this point. finally food came after another 20 min and the portions were tiny and sad + my salmon was slightly undercooked. we ate quickly because we wanted to get the hell out of there but when we asked for the check, it took another 15-20 mins and we had to ask 3 servers. all of our original waiters disappeared from the outside dining where we were by the time we left and some others were smoking right near tables that people were eating at. to cap it off, food is on the expensive side for pathetic portions and bland taste. would never come back and would not recommend. soured our taste for seville for a bit before we had a better meal after to...
Read moreWe reserved with the fork for dinner at a time that is not in the spanish standard dinner time, but in any case the riservation was well confirmed. We arrived there and with our big surprise the girl at the reception told us with a shrug that the kitchen was closed and that would have opened in one hour time. But what concerned me the most was that the receptionist didn't care at all about our situation and when we asked "what we can eat now then?" (I mean it is a bar, there will be something to eat...) she looked at us just impassible and said "sorry, I don' t understand"...well, I was so angry! At least you should recruit people that can put together a simple basic sentence...
